Match of the night, I thought.

The 25 - 45minute part of the first hour went downhill but the rest of the show has been very enjoyable. Crowd has made all the difference.

I do really love the unpredictability of this show. Compared to the slick and cleanness of WWE this has been a breath of fresh air.

The most blatant “BY GOD WE’RE OUTTA TIME!” Nitro of endings.

AEW (ignoring the ending) was a good show. Seemed to have ironed out the problems from the PPVs. But bloody hell do they have a lot of ad breaks. The guys losing their minds telling Pac to get in the ring because they don't realise it's an ad break because there was one right before the entrances

A lot of small things that used to be the norm they've brought back. "TV Time remaining", matches having time limits, announcers interviewing wrestlers on and in front of the stage, never going backstage for skits or interviews, TNT branding everywhere, clearly defined factions and stables already, commentators all having branded blazers (WWE done away with these in early 1998), no stupid comedy so everything looks like a joke.

Not as seamless as a WWE production, but I don't think you want it to be either. The crowd and atmosphere made it feel major league, and NXT is going to have a real problem combating that, even though I wouldn't be surprised if NXT had the better wrestling last night.

I last saw Jack Swagger in 5Star Wrestling and he was bloody awful, though maybe the promotion itself was bringing him down as well. Too much of that and you risk falling into the trap of TNA a number of years ago with WWE cast-offs. Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, (CM Punk?)...yeah, bring in all those top guys, but stay away from midcard acts and over-the-hillers, even if they were once masquerading as main eventers in WWE.

Swagger still has the look of a man who is permanently concussed.

I'm browsing the ITV hub at work and cant find this at all when i search. What am i missing? Was it only available as something you watch live through the hub?Is that even a thing? have never used ITV hub before (i actually had to google what it was).

Think i have worked it out. It's 7pm tonight isn't it? :fp:

It is, yes. And then replaying on ITV4 on Friday at 11:20pm, and then again on ITV4 at 8:20am on Sunday morning (that'll require heavy editing).

AEW was trending number 1 all night on Twitter, so it'll be interesting to see again how much of a correlation there is between social media engagement and actual viewers.

It always frustrates me how glossy and professional WWE shows are. I know WWE don't really want a simulated sports feel anymore as it's akin to a stage show, but AEW should clearly feel a bit rough around the edges like a genuine sports broadcast, so I'm glad to hear that seems to be the case.

Swagger is an interesting addition to the roster. Outside of this angle, I'm not sure where he fits in though. AEW probably did the best job they could by rebooting him, but with no mid card title I think a lot of these guys are going to get lost in the mix.

Thanks for clarifying. So if I miss it live on itv hub can I watch it whenever? Or do they not have stuff available for watching on repeat (and therefore I need to record the ITV4 late night screening)?

I don't know how long ITV will have the shows up for, but yes ITV Hub (and their subscription service ITV Hub+) are both streaming on-demand services (ala BBC iPlayer etc.).

If you want to watch Dynamite Live and in HD (1am, Thursday mornings), you'll need to subscribe to Fite.tv for around £4 a month.

Classic ITV. Didn't they have trouble with the last PPV as well?

One thing really bothers me. Why was Dustin Rhodes in his wrestling gear? He wasn't scheduled to fight, so in AEW canon he must dress like that recreationally!

Jack Swagger :fp: Haven’t watched it yet but ridiculous they thought that was a good idea. Maybe it’s because of his MMA connections, such an awful wrestler and such a TNA move.

That explains it... I was about to come on here to ask if I was doing something wrong as I’m the ITV hub but couldn’t find AEW.

Yep. Sony had to issue refunds to everyone who ordered it on PS4 because it didn’t work whatsoever.

Was flawless on FITE last night.

The lack of adverts also showed up even more what horse gooseberry fool it was that it couldn’t air Live on ITV if they really wanted to. They could have taken as many (or as few) ads as they wished. Some commercial breaks were wide shots with nothing happening, some really awkward stalling (such as with Pac), whereas others the match continued as normal with commentary.

I really don’t know what it is about ITV and any type of sporting event, they’re atrocious.
