If you’d have asked me to predict a ring announcer they’d have brought in, I would have put money on David Penzer.

Roberts will forever be associated with Johhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhn Ceeeeeeeeena, a bit like how Tony Chimel became synonymous with “The Rated R Suuuuuuuuuuuuuu [voice breaks]...ooooperstar Edge”

Just learned the XFL is back :slol: One of the drafted players quit after learning his base salary was $27k.

I like Justin Roberts, he’s brought back his “long John” for John Moxley :slol:
Haven’t seen it mentioned in here, has anybody seen on AEW’s Instagram the “Rick and Morty are #allelite” pic they put up? It says find out more October 30th. There’s a serious smell of WCW off of this, reminds me of when Robocop and Chucky showed up there.

Yeah, JR has actually been my least favourite thing about AEW so far. There are rare occasions where he's okay (he seems genuinely excited when Omega and Moxley are around each other) but other than that he fluctuates between disinterested and explicitly expressing his distaste for certain stuff, and Excalibur is left to try and bring the energy back up.

Are R&M culturally relevant, particularly to 18-34 year olds?

What channel is it on in the U.K.? Knowing me, I’m probably the only one that hasn’t seen one episode.

At least it’s on Halloween week, I suppose.

Yeah, it may be way too over exposed, what with almost every clothing shop selling Rick and Morty merchandise these days, but it is mainly 18-34 year olds buying said merch, and even though it’s gone too mainstream for some people, it’s still a good show. Oh and it’s on E4 over here, they do an Adult Swim block on Friday nights.
I’ve read somewhere that they’re going to be handing out Rick and Morty masks to the whole audience for Dynamite next week, so I’m guessing wrestler A will be hiding in the crowd wearing one so that he can get a cheap shot in on wrestler B.

From last night:

Laughed my head off.

Reminded me of Liz, Hogan and Savage. But without the botched time cues.

Or he will take off the Rick mask to reveal it was Rick underneath.

I wonder how AEW performed last night on ITV4, as it had an earlier start time of 10pm, followed directly from Live darts, and it was also AEW's hottest show yet. Couldn't have really asked for a better lead in, aside from maybe football.

We'll probably never know, but I wouldn't be surprised if AEW is already reaching half a million viewers in the UK.

WWE is in hot water with this Jordan Myles stuff. He's calling out Hogan.
NXT Superstar Jordan Myles spoke out against WWE over the weekend after the company released a controversial t-shirt in his name.

Myles condemned the design, stating on Twitter that it is “a slap in the face to EVERY African American performer, fan, and supporter.”

WWE released a statement in response to Myles’ initial Tweet yesterday evening: “Albert Hardie Jr. (aka Jordan Myles) approved this t-shirt for sale. As always, we work collaboratively with all of our performers to develop logos and merchandise designs and get their input and approval before proceeding. This was the same process with Albert, and we responded swiftly once he later requested that the logo/t-shirt be redesigned. No t-shirts were sold.”

Myles has responded to that statement, tweeting: “When I originally saw the design I was uncomfortable. Rather than addressing the issue I decided to counter offer with another. Baker Landon lied to my face! He said HHH wanted this design so my hands were tied. I spoke with Triple H in person and his impression was I approved.”

Myles also published a short Twitter video where he was seen saying “WWE doesn’t care about black people.” Although, the video has since been deleted.

Jordan also Tweeted: “THE WHOLE WWE SYSTEM IS FRAUD! THEY CREATED THIS SYSTEM WHERE YOU CAN’T TRUST ANYONE, YOU GROW COLD, AND YOU GROW APART FROM WHAT YOU LOVE THE MOST! The fact that Hulk Hogan is still employed after giving the locker room an apology for being caught says enough. #ForTheCulture”

He’s also called Jay Lethal an “Uncle Tom” for some reason. Heck of a few weeks for WWE though. Since Hell In A Cell it’s really been one thing after another.

I’m sure I’m misreading something but what’s racist about the t shirt? Is it explained somewhere?

It's very black face in theme.

It looks like big red lips, I don't think I need to say more than that.

I didn’t see it that way. I just saw a black t shirt (the majority of wwe t shirts are black) with a smile, which was a play on the name ‘myles’ smiles. The colour never crossed my mind.

It didn’t to me. If the wording are supposed to be teeth which I assume they are then the lips are actually tiny in comparison.

I fully get the stereotype but I just didn’t see it when looking at it with no context.

He’s saying he had approved the shirt design, but the one he saw was on a white background rather than black, though he’s since deleted that tweet amongst a number of others.

Add another problem to the list. WWE SmackDown on Friday night, which moved to FS1, averaged 888,000 viewers. So, beaten by all episodes of AEW Dynamite, and the lowest rated SD in history.

Even a show with Hogan, Lesnar, Flair, and Cain couldn’t save them on FS1.

I’m assuming FS1 has a much lower reach though.

Not sure. Looking at 2018 figures FS1 has 83,286,000 subscribers, whereas USA Network in comparison is available in around 90 million homes.
