Yeah the whole search for a librarian thing was pretty funny on BTE, mainly because it was supposed to be a silly gimmick pushed on the company by the Khans that the Elite thought was silly and dated, I’m not sure why they’ve gone through with it after bashing it from the beginning on the show. After last night I assume it won’t be around by the time they debut on TNT.
Fyter fest and Fight for the fallen are most definitely “B shows”, sort of rehearsals for their TV show in my mind, I’m sure their main focus is for All Out in August.

Dunno why people are so desperate for them to fail.

Chair shot was moronic and all of the pre-show was horrendous (with the exception of the PRIVATE PARTY match) but for a "b" show, it was not bad.

It's not going to be Double or Nothing quality on every show and theyre still trying to find their feet production wise.

More wrestling is good for everyone. More employment opportunities for workers = better employment benefits and better storylines to attract the viewers.

I'll never understand the tribe mentality of wrestling fans with one show over an other.

Wrestling-wise, I think NJPW might be far and away the best and most consistent show just now, but it will be interesting once AEW starts on TV. NXT takeovers are still unmissable imo.

Tony Khan's reaction when asked about the chair shot and similar stuff appearing on TNT :slol: :slol: :slol:

I'm expecting the production values on TNT to be equal to that of WWE in terms of what the show itself looks like, though I hope not as glossy with stupid LEDs everywhere. When TNA went to Fox Sports and the sound stage it immediately jumped to WCW level. The same with Lucha Underground, which had a Jerry Springer industrial style look, but again well designed. Though to create a set that can be dismantled and set up again on a weekly basis is obviously a lot more difficult than operating from a studio. I always thought that WCW Thunder set must have been a monumental pain in the arse.

This is where their relationship with TNT and the sports side of things should really come into its own.

Interested to see how WWE handle the Heyman and Bischoff 2019 era tonight. In my mind, it needs to be addressed on camera as the news is widespread and people are expecting it. If you have HHH and Stephanie on screen as authority figures, and Heyman on screen only as an advocate for Brock Lesnar, its gonna look weird.

They weren’t supposed to be on screen characters in terms of this role, but that may have changed as WWE accidentally (somehow) sent out emails telling people they were going to be on TV this week. Looks like they’ve mismanaged things and got people’s hopes up for something that was never meant to be some sort of reboot on TV, at least straight away.

I doubt much has even happened backstage yet in terms of Bischoff (who is moving with his wife to Connecticut for this position).

WWE finds themselves in an awkward position with SmackDown because they’re just running down the clock before it moves to FOX in October, but people are obviously now going to be expecting change, but how you explain that change is another issue. At least you had a natural fit with FOX ushering in a new era.

RAW is a different story. You obviously need time to build a new set and graphics and what not, but that can be altered whenever they want.

I’m more interested in just how much control Vince McMahon has really given up. ECW One Night Stand is the only time WWE has ever shown they can do something completely different, and once that became a weekly show the Heyman/McMahon relationship soon went south, and resulted in the worst PPV in company history with December to Dismember.

Ten minutes into the first Heyman raw and we've already had a match, buried the daft tug of wars segments from recent weeks, made Lashley slightly interesting, had pyro, commentary openly cursed on air and taken out the LED boards.

Unfortunately the show quickly goes downhill from there...

Sometimes when they’ve smashed up the set in the past it’s led to a new one debuting the following week, so I guess we’ll see.

Can't wait until Vince drops this new 'no wrestling in the commercial breaks' rule. Not only is it leading to contrived scenarios and matches, it must be awful for the live crowd, who are gradually going to realise matches can't go beyond about 12 minutes without interruption.

Great start to Raw and the finish was interesting. Weird to see a big spot for the US title program. Its great for Ricochet, but it shows how weak Rollins is as the headliner of the brand in my opinion. AJ is always going to outshine most of the roster. It feels a shame we probably won't be getting a decently done AJ/Bryan fued any time soon, but I can't knock how great AJ is for the show.

If I had to hedge my bets, Heyman was probably behind the start and finish to the show, Mcmahon probably exercised his control over the boring middle section. I wonder if they will give Bischoff until October to acclimatise, plan the Fox move and creative from that point forward, with a little influence on ticking things over.

Edit: You can tell Heyman was behind the start as I don't think Vince would have booked to start with a falls count anywhere match with Braun and Lashley!

I'm trying not to set my expectations too high otherwise it's like battered wives syndrome, or being married to an alcoholic; 'Oh he'll definitely change this time'...she says for the 20th time in as many years.

I hope the new set is either a radical departure from anything WWE has done before or sees the return of the long ramp, which I think WWE last used for a Tribute To The Troops show.

The fact Corey Graves dropped "gooseberry fool" on commentary in the first hour, and with Heyman's heritage in ECW, it would be nice to think the tone of RAW is going to be edgy and a bit grimy again, whereas Bischoff on SmackDown is going to be more sports orientated.

This has long been one of the biggest problems with the brand split, neither show stands on its own. Even though it didn't last very long and a lot of people hated it, at least the floating crane camera on SmackDownLIVE was different. Even last week on RAW when they shot the ring from the apron (to hide the lousy crowd) immediately mixed it up. So formulaic has WWE become, the stage is always filmed from the left, whereas before it would sometimes be on the right of the hard camera. Small minor things, but when you see the same show multiple times a week, 52 weeks a year, things quickly become stale.

What the hell was the whole Maria being pregnant thing about?! I hope it leads to something for them and doesn’t end up being a random segment on a whatculture list is a few years time! Also, Mike Kanellis, a 205 live guy, was visibly bigger than Rollins on Raw, so one of them needs to move!

So KO did almost the exact thing Miz did the other week on Miz TV with Shane, but he did it miles better. I wish they would turn him face, with a "sick of WWE bullshit" kind of character. He is another one that is being really wasted. Joe vs Kofi is definitely a step up from Ziggler, who is still the exact same character he has been forever. Ziggler was interviewed on SNME (the replacement for LAW) and he talked about wanting to try something new. Guess he had that stopped by Vince.

Its really interesting to see the amount of talent they have on the roster that are being utterly wasted. If they booked things properly, changed up the in ring styles and allowed the talent more freedom, they would have no reason to worry about AEW.

I don't see the point in getting guys like Owens or Joe and then forcing the WWE in ring style onto them. Every match is the same, no matter who is in the ring, and it just means the best they can hope for is something average. I don't think it's a HHH problem, you can see how people look fantastic on NXT, with really good matches, then they get to the main roster and get Vince'd and just disappear into obscurity.

I think WWE fans, the casual ones, would be blown away if guys like The Young Bucks or Omega came in and brought their style to such a large audience.

To accommodate the November Saudi Arabia PPV, WWE has canceled their Raw taping in Glasgow, Scotland on Monday 11/11, with the event being downgraded to a WWE Live event. The new current plan is to tape both Raw for 11/11 and SmackDown on Friday 11/8 in Manchester, England. The show will now start at 6pm, local. WWE has also canceled the 11/5 show in Nottingham, 11/6 in Birmingham, 11/8 in London, and 11/9 event in Butlins, Minehead.

Wow at the amount of people WWE are screwing over here for the Saudis, Brother. Kind of great for the people in Manchester, but the start time is lousy as hell on a work night.

I wouldn't call having to sit through 5 hours of WWE "great".

If no wrestling in the commercials is also still in play, they’ll probably be able to power through both shows in 4. Few video packages, pre-tape a load of crap backstage...

I've no idea whether the Butlins Minehead tickets have gone on sale yet, but that will screw them over badly. It was at least £400 for a weekend to get the cheap seats, and when I went it was completely sold out.

Have to say, Butlins scummyness aside, it was a superb weekend. Better experience than WM for my money as you have a whole weekend surrounded by wrestling fans slumming it and having a great laugh. You are also far closer to the ring than you are ever likely to get at a Raw or SD taping.

It was a bizarre experience hitting the nightclub after where they were playing clubby remixes of entrance themes.

I'm not sure that many folk have the Network anymore but has anyone been getting freezing issues when playing it through a PS4, Amazon Fire Stick or phone/tablet?

The folk running their helpine twitter are useless.

I looked last night and they were still being advertised. Butlins itself is now saying SmackDown Live superstars, but I wouldn't put too much faith in that as WWE don't appear to know what they're doing at the moment. RAW at one point was moved to Leeds (as if they're going to tape a strawberry floating RAW in Leeds! No offence.) The Mirror on Monday were still running a competition for tickets advertising the old dates via WWE.com. Total shambles and a terrible way to treat UK fans. I presume WWE will still have to pay the arena their booking fees. It's like they've only just noticed 'gooseberry fool, we've got SmackDown on Friday and we run Saudi Arabia on Fridays'. Not to mention they booked their NXT UK Takeover on one of the worst days possible.

AEW should now run an event in Scotland this winter.

Not had any issues from the Network for a long time now (via the PS4 Pro and iPad Air 2), even Live.
