The start and end of RAW was great (Rusev & Mike Kanellis should team together and seeing as they've already used the term on air, call themselves The Cuck Connection) but the middle part of the show dragged like hell, and the crowd was DEAD for the vast majority of the night which didn't help either. They only woke up upon being greeted with the prospect of Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan, resulting in a "one more match" chant. :fp:

If that doesn't tell you where this promotion is now at...

The show did feel different in places, mainly because of the announce team, but also due to the return of pyro throughout, the new set, intro featuring cut-ins from the band singing the theme song (similar to what they did in 2002), and for the first time in a long time there was a feeling of unpredictability - things weren't quite as slick as they usually are. The old WCW trope of "Who's in the limo?!" was wheeled out as well (it was Bobby Lashley, who is now having an open affair with Lana).

Team Flair vs. Team Hogan is now also headlinding their next PPV, for another round of their bi-annual Disaster in the Desert.

It was enticing to see Flair vs Hogan teased, never thought I'd say this 10 years ago but Flair looks in far far worse shape than Hogan. I guess his health scares have really taken a toll along with the lifestyle he has led.

If the rumours of Austin making a one match comeback are true, they couldn't do much wrong if they went for Austin vs Hogan or Austin vs Goldberg. Sure the match won't be great, but they can get imaginative about it. If Hogan could get a well remembered match out of Andre all those years ago (it only went 12 mins), I think they could make a decent spectacle of either of those two matches.

Maybe even Hogan vs Austin vs Goldberg. Should protect all of them and would be one hell of a visual.

Don't like that new set. It's just a digital skate ramp.

I think it's possible with Brock apparently now facing criminal charges and pissing off Mysterio that Kingston stands a chance of keeping his title...........possibly.

Or he’ll just be on team Hogan, do a stunner to end the match and swagger off with 2 mill in his Jean shorts.

this Lashley and lana thing is giving me flash backs to lana and ziggler and I don't like it.

Good to see WWE still aiming their product at 12 year olds while their average viewer age sails past 50.

ITV have announced two more AEW time slots. It'll be on ITV Hub from 7pm Thursdays and there's a replay at 11:20pm on Friday nights. Both are the full, unedited 2 hour showings.

Shame they couldn't put it on ITV1 on Friday night, there's always strawberry float all on after the news at that time of night.

So on the ITV hub is on demand right and not just a one time stream? That would make the 11:20pm Friday night the first showing. Harks back to the days of raw but that's too bloody late for the first showing. They've delayed it to sell AEW plus then moved it forward to make AEW plus redundant but still not all the way to where it should be. So we're still just being unnecessarily shafted.

The Friday night timing’s a bit annoying because that puts it on at the same time as Impact.

The hardcore fanbase will watch Live tonight or on-demand via Fite, with the vast majority of wrestling fans then on the ITV Hub, whereas all the others will appeal to the more casual viewer and late night channel surfers. Channel 5 for example really promote IMPACT on their app (its been the featured show for at least the last two weeks as soon as you load it up).

I know many people by sheer chance stumbled upon Nitro back in the day, but that was following the already very established Cartoon Network at 9pm. That early morning slot on ITV4 is complete crap (it won’t even attract the kids on that channel), but ITV is currently airing rugby so maybe they’ll move it in a few weeks.

Good on ITV for making it available first on the Hub though. Only available in HD if you’re watching ITV Hub through Amazon, so Fite is still the place for that outside of pay TV (Sky etc.).

Conventional ratings from a U.K. standpoint are now totally redundant for this as the audience is going to be so split. But what it does give ITV and AEW internally is a very specific and factual number, rather than the usual BARB estimates. Has a programme ever debuted on the ITV Hub?

Glad they've announced the extra slots. I'll probably watch it on the ITV Hub at 7pm as that'll suit me perfectly after dinner. Just have to resist going into this thread until then.

The feeling of excitement is palpable through the TV. Amazing.

Production values seem pretty huge.

It feels like one of the major big 3 WWE PPVs.

This crowd is so hot they really don’t need the WWE-esque mood lighting. They need to dump it unless the arena isn’t fully sold out.

Really great that FITE stays with it during commercials. No adverts WHATSOEVER. :msgreen:

This is going to be a real pleasure to watch Live because of it (I say, before 3 commercial breaks where literally nothing happens during the downtime :slol:

).

Women's title match was really good. Crowd were into it a hell of a lot.
