Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote:A deal was said to have been finalized about a week ago between TNA and WWE that would allow Ric Flair, the first person to be inducted twice, to appear and allow him to speak at the WWE Hall of Fame.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, however one stipulation that was part of what TNA was asking for is the company wanted it to be said during the show that Flair worked for TNA, or was coming due to TNA, or some kind of a mention. It is not clear if WWE agreed to that term but it was one of the key things that was on the negotiating table.

As of press time, the order for the Hall of Fame was scheduled as:

  • Mil Mascaras to be inducted by Alberto Del Rio.
  • Yokozuna to be inducted by Rikishi (his cousin) and Jimmy & Jey Uso.
  • Ron Simmons to be inducted by JBL.
  • Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and J.J. Dillon as The Four Horsemen inducted by Dusty Rhodes.
  • Mike Tyson to be inducted by Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
  • Edge to be nducted by Christian.

The only way to watch the entire ceremony will be on DVD and Blu Ray.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote:WWE made $80.5 million in 2011 from their domestic television package with NBC (RAW, SmackDown, Specials and NXT before it was canceled). UFC in comparison in 2012 will take in $100 million on the FOX deal alone.

In place of SmackDown this week, Sky Sports will be airing what equates to Vintage Collection with a selection of WrestleMania matches - Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat is one of the feature bouts.

Lucien wrote:Why isn't Smackdown being shown?

WWE send International markets a special edition of 'SmackDown', & have done for years, during WrestleMania week as the US SmackDown incorporates footage taken from Axxess & other Mania activity that is edited too late for inclusion here. Some years Sky have shown the proper version on a Saturday.

TMZ wrote:Former Team USA wrestling bad ass Kurt Angle has hit a major hurdle in his quest to return to the Olympics ... telling TMZ he sustained a major injury that could put an end to his journey.

Angle -- who won a gold medal for heavyweight freestyle wrestling at the '96 games -- just called in to "TMZ Live" and explained, "I injured my hamstring this morning ... it is a tear."

The 43-year-old says the injury occurred during a training session this morning ... and he has an MRI scheduled for tomorrow.

Angle tells us, "I still plan on going [to the Olympics] ... I've been training for a whole year now ... so it all depends on how it heals ... but if this tear is really bad, there's a chance I may not go."

Now who didn't see this excuse coming. They even joked about it a couple weeks ago on the Wrestling Observer Radio that Kurt Angle would pull this gooseberry fool, though Bryan still believed he'd at least show up for trials.

Shame if he does pull out. I wanted to see if he could compete. However I too have my suspicions that he was always going to pull out.

On the SD thing. I don't get why we just can't have a cut down SD just showing the stuff they've already recorded, maybe a one hour SD or keep it as two hours and splice in some extra matches from the vault.
