From Cait: Just thought I'd pass along the information that over on the hardyshow.com message board the topic of Jeff Hardy's "broken neck" that was reported by Dave Meltzer came up. Tamran who is a reliable source of Hardy information said the following

"not true....jeff is injured, he's having some elbow issues that's why he was pulled off things this weekend. so he can be at the PPV on sunday." This would make more sense, not sure why the store was telling people he had a broken neck.

Thank god for that.

Also if someone finds a SS stream, please send it me :)

Agreed! Edge is best worker match-wise they have at the moment and Taker's still got it. There Mania match was awesome despite the outcome being obvious

Massive relief.

Jeff's one of the few current wrestlers who doesn't bore me to death after a minute or two.

Sunday before a ppv: the only time I post in the wrestling thread. I'll be streaming tonight so everyone should be in here tonight for some chat to get the thread off to a flying start.

SummerSlam Predictions
Shawn Michaels announcement
Hopefully a Michaels Vs Jericho/Cade match should come out of this. Or at very least Jericho beating the hell out of Michaels. If they announce he'll never wrestle again then it'll kill the feud imo as we've already had similar with Edge/Taker.

Winners Take All Tag Team Match
Kofi and Mickie to retain. I want both of them to retain and hopefully they will. No point giving the IC title back to Santino as his last run was awful and this one won't be any better until he gets into a decent wrestling feud. Get the guy off the strawberry floating mic. Phoenix shouldn't have the title either. She's a good dominating heel but the Mickie- Katie Lea feud could have legs if they go with it a bit more.

Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy to win if the injury rumours are false. MVP to beat Hardy's replacement if they're true.

John Cena vs. Batista
I hate Cena a lot more than I hate Batista which is why this match will be painful as Cena will win. No amount of looking at how a future feud will pan out can convince that cena isn't winning tonight. It's Cena all the way.

ECW Champion Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy
I want Hardy to win as Henry is dire not only as a champion but in general. Hard to pick but I'm going to go with Hardy.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. JBL
JBL needs to retire again. He shouldn't be in the ring let alone in the title picture. CM Punk to win. All this talk of transitional champion makes me lean towards him retaining otherwise his character is gimped for the future.

WWE Champion Triple H vs. The Great Khali
Why is Khali getting a title shot? Looking at these matches Summerslam looks like a b-card show this year. Triple H to retain. Easily.

Edge vs. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match)
Hell in a Cell with the Taker. Taker to win. He never takes the big bumps so Edge will and Taker will win from it. I don't want Taker to have a big push as he's past it but if losing rejuvenates Edge a bit then it'll work. Edge has done the same thing all year, moaning with Vickie. They need to change things.

The reason Khali is in the title match is WWE dont wanna waste a drawing match when the card has two bigger matches. What I mean is they have Edge v Taker and Cena v Dave which will draw the money so theres no need to put HHH against anoter top draw, might as well keep it for a B-PPV headline

It's at least partly his own fault though.

If he hadn't failed a drug test, he would probably have won Money in the bank and possibly would have been champ by now.

Definitely. If Jeff hadn't been busted by the wellness program, he'd be where CM Punk is right now.

Orton got busted by wellness program and they gave him a huge huge push.

Yeah but Jeff has been caught before and has a history, plus it was more of a timing issue with him. I'm sure if he hadn't got caught right before the MiTB match he would still have been pushed, it was just unfortunate timing for him.

Hardy has a history of strawberry floating up though - they were going to push him, but he failed again, and another failure means they have to release him - how can he they give him the big push right from his return?

edit - beaten to it.
