For anyone who wants to watch the most cringe-worthy segment in the history of professional wrestling, may I suggest the end of TNA iMPACT! this week. In some way it's very sad - a load of old wrestlers, Tommy Dreamer in particular, who can't let go of the past. The best line was from Dixie Carter at the start, when she says: "What Hulk Hogan meant to the 80's I really feel like you guys meant to the 90's,". Dreamer begins by comparing the apparent simulates between TNA & ECW: "Long before Samoa Joe was dumping people on their heads & chocking people out, there was Tazz, the human suplex machine, doing it everywhere."; "What Ric Flair did for Jay Lethal, Terry Funk did for me & Mick Foley"; "Before The Beautiful People there was Francine & Beulah Mcgillicutty" (Tommy Dreamer's wife), before stating he had his closure at ECW's One Night Stand 2005. However he couldn't stand the fact the WWE then brought it back, destroyed it & 'fired his friends' (he's being all EMOTIONAAAAL!!! at this point). Dreamer is probably the only one in the world that believed Vince McMahon's ECW, especially the last few years, was anything to do with the original.
Tommy Dreamer then starts begging Dixie Carter to give them one night where they can show what ECW was all about & say goodbye properly (Vince McMahon gave them this twice in 2005 & 2006). Carter then tells them all that, if they're going to do this, they're going to have to do it themselves. TNA has absolutely nothing to do with it (just as - yes - the WWE mostly did in 2005). ECW have temporarily taken over TNA programming (now where does that sound familiar...oh wait, Vince McMahon also did this in 1997 when Raw returned to the Manhattan Centre). How bad does it look when you're handing over you TV time & PPV slot to a promotion you don't even own, & therefore can't promote properly anyway? Apart from increasing PPV revenue for 1 month, I don't see how this helps TNA get out of the hole they're in at all.
The way everything was worded (i.e the constant use of the initials "ECW") on iMPACT!, the WWE would probably have a strong case for claiming that TNA are trying to deceive viewers into thinking they're putting on what is effectively a WWE sanctioned PPV. If the WWE can attempt to sue WCW when they claimed Vince McMahon wasn't going to to show up at Slamboree in 1998, then this has to be a strong possibility. That's all TNA need, is WWE's lawyers on their case.

I mentioned a few days ago that i could see a lawsuit coming and it only appears to be getting more likely as the weeks go on. Although it does seem very quite from WWE's point of few. Maybe they realise that this may not be a bad thing, after all WWE own the rights to ECW so any interest in ECW may benefit WWE in terms of DVD sales etc.. However i can imagine that Vince is holding off to see if the ppv is any kind of success and if so then he will probably sue for a proportion of the profits or something. However seen as the rumours of their last ppvs are only 8,000 buys i can only imagine this ppv doing a few more, nothing special probably not worth the cost of suing TNA over. Especially as WWE on a whole is trying to distance themselves from that style of wrestling.
I can't help but contemplate why, if the ECW lot are huge fans of TNA & only wanted to ask Dixie Carter if they could have their own PPV - & she was the one who originally invited them in the first place - at the end of last week's iMPACT! show the ECW crew vaulted the barrier & started assaulting all & sundry? What was the brawl all about? Why did Al Snow also come down & start beating up TNA personnel only to end the show looking confused when Dixie told everyone she'd invited them?
If someone could explain all this, I'd appreciate it. Because from where I'm sitting, last week has no correlation to this week.

I think it's because they are all hardcore and can't be contained. They just love to beat people up and destroy things. That's why they are so cool and everyone needs to tune into the ppv to see what crazy gooseberry fool happens.
Well i guess that's what they are getting at anyway. That or it's TNA and they just don't understand that a tv programme is supposed to at least make a little sense.
My memory of lasts weeks show is hazy, but wasn't RVD getting a beat-down or something? I can only assume they got in to help out RVD. Having said that, I did kind of laugh during a backstage segment this week. Dixie was talking to all the agents, then said they don't need to know everything, but then proceeded to call them members of management.
Whichever way you look at it, either Dixie Carter is a complete moron who doesn't notify Orlando Studios, security personnel, trainers, road agents, THE POLICE or the wrestlers of anything (getting that old WCW message across to the viewer that nobody in the company knows jack gooseberry fool), the wrestlers & road agents are stupid (a load of them started beating up people from their own company), the ECW crew...ah strawberry float it, why am I trying to dissect this nonsense. I'm putting more thought into it than TNA did in the space of 24 hours. There's more holes here than in the cheese that sponsors Midsomer Murders.
EDIT: Oh, AND ANOTHER THING, what in the blue hell were Jeff Jarrett & Kevin Nash going on about? Your fault, my fault, his fault, Sting's fault...you're a selfish prick. Segment ends.
The best parts were Dixie saying this isn't my promo this is real. Great when it's the final segment so everything on the show was fake. Then Dreamer starts comparing the current talent to ECW talent. Except he makes Joe sound like a copy of Tazz and clearly states that Lethal vs Flair was for the rub. FFS at least make it seem real.
Im watching Impact from two weeks ago ... the opening 10 minutes has been the worst of any wrestling show I have ever watched .... Abyss eating a raw bot of meat in the ring
That womens street fight ... I don't think the crowd could have looked less bothered

Did you notice the WCW Nitro ring mats?
Is that what the red bits were on the other side. For the love of strawberry float will they just stop it with the backstage segments where they tape the wrestlers talking to themselves
