He was talking about the Rumble, so I don't think that's what he's referring to.

I check this thread pretty much every day, but think - if I'm strong enough to do it - that this might be my last post in it. Basically I've concluded I'm not enjoying wrestling nearly as much when I have clues as to what's in the story pipelines months in advance, so I'm going to delete my PWTorch app and try to just watch the show and not take in any external info and see if I can't try and be surprised by WWE again. I doubt it! But I'll try anyway...

Still the best thread ever, mind.

Is this because you got Miz in the sweepstake?

Cold turkey, eh? You are a braver man than I. Be interesting to see if your strategy works and you find your smile. You'll have to extricate yourself entirely from a whole world behind the scenes, which for me is half the enjoyment itself.

Tell the truth though, you're really leaving because you have Miz in the Rumble Sweepstakes.

I've tried to avoid this thread and other news sites but I just can't. It's impossible for me. :fp:

This is TNA. The company that has also just uploaded this article to their website:

You can now add Roddy Piper to the ever burgeoning list of ranting and raving celebrities on Twitter:

Twitter wrote:LEDGENS HOUSE! WHY ME! I'M NOT A LEDGEN, I'M THERE NIGHTMARE. I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN I'M ASKED A FAVORE! BABY JESUS..I'LL GET IN SOMUCHTROUBLE

IF HTM [Honky Tonk Man] IS THERE I GIVE MYSELF 1 DAY BEFORE I STRANGLE HIM WITH THE PHONE CORD, WHILE HE SLEEPS! MAYBE CONCIDERED A PUBLIC SERIVCE!!

@WWE!! I said to @WWE, who's in the house? @WWE, we can't tell you! SERIOUSLY!! THEN IT'LL BE A MASS MURDER WITH HTM'S GUITAR STRINGS!

On the other hand, maybe Vincent is in the house. I might get my ANGEL WINGS for a ritual killing of Satan!

IF I DO this train wreck. I promise, ALL OLD SCHOOL RULES APPLY!! I know that doesn't mean nothing to my Tweeters. THE BOYS WILL BE TERRIFIED!

Not sure if want the second one. DO NOT WANT the first.

I wish Triple H would just strawberry float off now. I don't want him strawberry floating up Punk's momentum yet again and although I think Jericho/Taker could be a great match, I'd much rather see a match between Punk and Jericho.

After posting that, I will now go on my yearly rumoursite embargo.

Thankfully I have the Review-a-Wai archive to get me through this. Top notch find, Zell (It was you, right?)

WWE RAW Ratings Breakdown 16th January 2012

(This was the first RAW not going against the NFL)

Quarter 1: Show opened on a 3.2 (return of Mick Foley, Dolph Ziggler and C.M. Punk coming out)
Q2: Lost 522,000 viewers (Primo & Epico vs. Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne)
Q3: Gained 207,000 viewers (Jack Swagger defeating Zack Ryder to capture the United States Championship)
Q4: Lost 169,000 viewers (Perez Hilton introducing Kelly Kelly & Alicia Fox vs. Bella Twins)
Q5: Gained 526,000 viewers (Miz, R-Truth, Wade Barrett and Sheamus Battle Royal)
Q6: Lost 365,000 viewers (John Cena heelishly beating up Jack Swagger; Brodus Clay dancing)
Q7: Lost 372,000 viewers (Daniel Bryan interview)
Q8: Gained 817,000 viewers (Punk, Bryan & Chris Jericho vs. Mark Henry, Ziggler & David Otunga) to close on a 3.3.

WWE RAW Ratings Breakdown 23rd January 2012

The show did a 3.2 rating.

Quarter 1: Show kicked off at a 3.9 (C.M. Punk, John Cena and John Laurinaitis in ring promo)
Q2: Lost 528,000 viewers (CM Punk & John Cena vs. Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler)
Q3: Lost 287,000 viewers (Chris Jericho Highlight Reel). Jericho is still yet to have a segment gain anything on his own.
Q4: Gained 601,000 viewers (Kane vs. Zack Ryder/Stretcher angle)
Q5: Lost 490,000 viewers (Sheamus vs. Jinder Mahal)
Q6: Gained 35,000 viewers (Brodus Clay vs. Heath Slater)
Q7: Lost 19,000 viewers (Miz vs. R-Truth). In a slot that nearly always loses viewers, & compared to Jericho's big loses here, I'd class this a pretty big success.
Q8/Over-run: Gained 761,000 (CM Punk vs. John Laurinaitis) to close out on a 3.5.

More Rumble talk, this time from the Observer.

Wrestling Observer wrote:There is said to be a major twist planned for the 30-man Royal Rumble match this year, based on the announced idea that every Superstar is eligible to be in the Rumble. This angle was also done to set up at least one planned storyline.

Isn't there always a twist in the Rumble match?

One possibility I was thinking about is that maybe The Rock enters? This then puts the whole Mania match against Cena in doubt temporarily. Cena then gets put into the Elimination Chamber & wins the WWE Title, thus setting up a title match between the two for Mania.

Personally I think Jericho will draw 30 and come out and spend ages posing with fans. In the meantime the last two in the ring will eliminate each other at the same time and then Jericho will walk in for the win.

Well I'll be buying it. Mainly out of celebration that my time at this internship has been doubled

I think that now Jericho has broken silence and gone serious he'll compete at the Rumble and actually wrestle. Him going totally back to the goofy fan-pleasing thing will be jarring.
