The WCW DVD listing is up on Silvervision - it looks like it has a full documentary and matches like the Rise and Fall of ECW set:

Is this the set which a few months ago was being touted as not featuring Bischoff and many other old alumni?

Yep.

Pre-ordered - hatchet job or not. If this sells well, we’ll hopefully start getting WCW PPV events.

I see they’ve given Hogan/Goldberg its own subsection on the documentary. Whether it was right or not to put it on Nitro with only a week’s build (will they slag it off? Oooooh, I wonder...), it was ultimately the biggest match in free-to-air history that led to a programme that was so incredibly good, I doubt it’ll ever be bettered. Wrestling will never get a crowd reaction quite like it again. It’s the night WCW as a company peaked.

The match selection is mostly solid. Though must we see Hogan & Flair at Bash at the Beach ’94 again?

Shame Hogan Vs Sid Vicious from Nitro didn't make it on there somewhere. Poor match which ended in complete & utter carnage. It's worth watching just to see the crowd completely annihilate ringside with garbage. It's verging on the insane. In fact, if I remember correctly Hogan ended up pinning Rick Steiner to win the match!

EDIT: Found part of it. From 3:16 onwards

Botchamania is always good for a laugh.

WWE have opted to change this year’s Summerslam logo. According to sources within the company, The Biggest Event of the Summer was too reminiscent of World Championship Wrestling’s Bash at the Beach. Summerslam will be emanating from the LA Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Well I liked it. :|

We've learned legendary wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was busted for suspicion of DUI early this morning in Hollywood.

Law enforcement sources tell us 55-year-old Roddy, real name Roderick Toombs, was stopped by police at around 1 AM -- he was given field sobriety tests and then arrested.

Roddy's bond is $5,000.

:fp: Christ.

Why would they talk about a wrestler who murdered his family and then committed suicide?

Great wrestler, but that's kind of irrelevant since he murdered his wife & son. All archive footage with him in will forever be tarnished.

Yeah whenever I see him angry in the ring it creeps me out now and I end up thinking about what he did. Shame.

I view him as two different men - he surely wasn't himself when he commited the murder. Wasn't his head gone senile or something?

Something like that wasn't it. His brain resembled that of an 80 year old Alzheimers patient.

When I watch Benoit matches the knowledge of what he did doesn't affect my viewing enjoyment at all to be honest.

I thought they'd ruled out Roid Rage...

WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt appeared on Live with Dan Abrams on July 17, 2007 and said that Benoit was prescribed testosterone as part of a treatment for testosterone replacement therapy, which McDevitt said was a common medical practice for people who had used steroids in the past, and had suffered testicular damage as a result. The former wrestler and Harvard graduate Christopher Nowinski has said that Benoit may have been suffering from repeated, untreated concussions throughout his wrestling career, ultimately leading to an unstable mental state. Nowinski has been quoted as saying that Benoit "was one of the only guys who would take a chair shot to the back of the head ... which is stupid." Tests were conducted on Benoit's brain by Julian Bailes, the head of neurosurgery at West Virginia University, and results showed that "Benoit's brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient." Tests conducted on Benoit's brain tissue have revealed he did in fact suffer from severe chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and had brain damage in all four lobes of the brain and brain stem. These tests revealed similar results to the study of the brains of four retired NFL players who have suffered multiple concussions, sank into depression and harmed themselves or others. Bailes and his colleagues concluded that repeated concussions can lead to dementia, which can contribute to severe behavioral problems. Benoit's father suggests that brain damage may have been the leading cause of the double murder-suicide. A statement released by WWE dismissed this idea as "speculative."

Nancy Benoit had filed for divorce in May 2005, allegedly after domestic abuse from Chris, but had withdrawn it in August 2005, according to the County's District Attorney Scott Ballard. In February 2008, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) reported that Nancy may have suspected her husband of having an affair with a WWE Diva, and that they may have also argued over a life insurance policy. The AJC claimed the source was a recently released report from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

So did I, but there were many conflicting reports back then, so who knows what to believe?

This is what I choose to believe when it comes to Benoit, and as such I can watch his matches without it bothering me much.

He was undoubtedly one of the greatest in-ring wrestlers who unfortunately ended it all in such a tragic way. :(

I have something WCW related stuck in my head. There was a Wrestler/Personality who disguised himself all in white (I think) & continually interfered in another wrestlers matches & then revealed himself after a few weeks. Who was this, it's bugging me?

KK will surely know.

I'm still trying to discover the identity of this man, can anyone help?
