WWE Studios are doing a deal with Fox:

A deal has been struck between FOX Home Entertainment and WWE Studios, the production arm of the pro wrestling powerhouse, to produce three films to be released directly to Blu-ray, DVD, digital download and VOD (video on demand). The WWE will make use of their popular shows to help promote the pictures.

"WWE Studios will continue to expand its film offerings to appeal to a wide range of movie fans in 2012 and 2013," WWE Studios President, Michael Luisi said "We look forward to building upon our relationship with 20th Century FOX Home Entertainment to present movies that bring action, adventure and humor to audiences all over the globe."

The first film of the three will be the next installment in The Marine franchise, which started with the 2006 John Cena film. This franchise has already seen a DTV sequel, back in 2009. The original film's star, John Cena, did not return for that sequel. He was instead replaced by another WWE fave, Ted DiBiase, Jr.

This new Marine movie will not feature Cena either. It will be about a new character altogether and not Cena's character, John Triton, from the original film.
