I've been working on a lot of articles in private for a while now and I am happy to say I finally have somewhere to display my work.
From today I will be a contributing writer for the Welsh Gaming Network.
My first published article with them is a retrospective on the Fire Emblem series as Three Houses releases on Nintendo Switch next week.

I'll be posting articles on there regularly.

Throughout this month, I've been looking at some of the racing games from my past with both a video and a story. Since I've just uploaded the last, I thought I'd share them all here. So, we have Powering Off the Line With Excite Truck, Hopping Around the Spiral With CTR: Nitro Fueled, Gifting the Love and Life of the Sport With GripShift (the most personal story featured within them), and Finishing Using a Final Boost With Midnight Club Los Angeles.

I had been planning on a once every five days upload for these, so I could feature six games, but I decided to just leave it at four, as the other two games I was going to feature... One wasn't exactly a racing game, though did feature racing events within it (Go Vacation), and the other was too similar to one of the other games featured (Test Drive Unlimited). I am interested in getting some gameplay of Go Vacation up to go with a future post revisiting my Mii Resort Paradise idea, but I don't have plans for when that will go up. I have planned to target a September release for my fifth novel, so we'll see how that goes.

I wrote a poem tonight, it's called "When one word is written but you read it as another"

When one word is written but you read it as another,
Sat between the pages bounded by the cover,
There lives the book imp, a creature like no other.

She delights in deception of the unwary reader,
Hiding between the lines where the eye cannot see her;
A literally invisible literary deceiver.

As the author's meaning is made uncertain
The literate cede to the imp's coercion.
The considerate see too the ink's inertion

And curse their failure in comprehension,
Unknowing of the fairy's unwanted attention.
Unfairly made to reread the lines before them,

All the while confounded by the imp's interference.
Even when you think to avoid her appearance,
Never doubt that creature's perseverance.

Even now these words betray,
She tricks, she fools, she leads ashtray.
Although you may suspect fowl play,

It is not I who misconstrues
This poem and the words I use.
Rather blame an impish ruse

When one word is mitten, but you read it as a mother.

I think it could do with an extra stanza between the second and third, but wanted to put it out there!

Like it. It trains you to read one word as another. Exactly hot it sits out to do.

Thanks all! And Taf too for introducing me to Brian Bilston, his poems seem right up my street! I am shockingly illiterate when it comes to poetry I have read (which, outside of school, is basically just Spike Milligan and Yeats).

So maybe I'm now stretching the scope of this thread, but this is definitely a poem, and also the forum for sharing it...

Is it supposed to be read as

Mario Goomba Bullet Bill Blooper,
Cheep Cheep Hammer Bro Koopa Troopa

and if so, I like the rhyme and form a lot, but shouldn't you swap Hammer Bro and Cheep Cheep to get that sweet echo with Mario?

...Or have I missed a secret message/puzzle?
