Years ago Thorpe Park did some 24hr events where you could stay in the park all night and ride the rides in the dark. There was also no queues at 2am.

Alton Towers should do the same thing, that would probably be a great way to experience Wicker Man.

So, Disney have finally announced that they're going to be adding a Marvel land to Disney Studios in Paris, including an Iron Man/Avengers retheme of the Rock n Roller Coaster. Wonder if they'll keep the sound in the cars but have you hurtling round to Tony Stark's playlist.

Seen a bit of speculation that this might also spell the end of Armageddon and the Motor, Action Stunt Show Spectacular as they build new Marvel attractions around the Rock n Rollercoaster (although the latter probably isn't something I'll miss too much - Would have been much better if they'd changed up the actual stunts they performed every few months rather than it being the exact same show with the exact same " :o " moments every time).

But if those rumours are true I'll be a bit sad that they're obviously moving away from the behind the scenes "how the magic happens" kind of theme that the Studios park initially started off with. If there's no Armageddon and no Motors Action that literally just leaves the Studio Tram Tour, and that's been circling the drain for a while (it takes up far too much land and it's seen a massive drop in interest when I've been there)

I'm still miffed they've scrapped Cinemagique, though. I loved that show.

Studios park was always a bit crap though, can see it being a bit like the HyperSpace Mountain overlay they've currently got going, with lots of screen effects being added to it...

Removing the Stunt Show and Armageddon was always likely, if it didn't have the ridiculous 20 minute long pre-show I'd be sad about Armageddon, mostly because it was actually amazing as a spectacle and the sounds of crying children at the end made me highly amused

Tram Tour needs binning now though, and at least we're not getting a GotG retheme of Tower

Yeah, I'm glad that the Tower of Terror is sticking with the Twilight Zone theme. A Guardians of the Galaxy mod feels a bit too 'flavour of the month' to really have that sticking power. It's a genuinely creepy ride, too.

The Armageddon pre-show is something else that I've always thought they could very easily change with minimal effort/costs to keep the ride a bit fresh. Surely by now everyone going on it has seen the special effects through the years montage and the badly dubbed Michael Clarke Duncan about 19 times.

"Now I want to see 'Ducking from explosion'! Give me FEAR" :dread:

I have heard though that Twilight Zone might be removed, IP contract has run out (which would explain the sudden retheme at California, and after the initial response they won't touch Florida) so will need some reworking done to it...

It'll be weird to have it as 'generic lift goes wrong' storyline after being so used to the Twilight Zone just... working...

I'm planning on going to Blackpool in late April, really hope Icon is up and running by then. We went to Thorpe Park in April a couple of years back and missed the opening of the Derren Brown Ghost Train by a matter of weeks I think.

Annoyingly the marvel stuff is all just an overlay. No new rides which is what studios desperately needs. I’m not adverse to retheming, it doesn’t bother me like it does some people. But that’s what the park needs.

It changed from X No Way Out to just X years ago and got a dance music theme rather than a computer virus theme.

I used to love that ride when it was X: No Way Out. It went backwards in pitch black!
I think they've since made it go forwards and added lights, ruining any uniqueness. The Walking Dead theme is an awful idea, it's like Thorpe Park want to turn the whole park into a horror theme.

Disneyland Paris to get Marvel, Star Wars and Frozen ( :dread: ) themed lands for Disney Studios from 2021. Kinda wish it was sooner. Or at least roll it out in stages. Make Star Wars, then Marvel, then Frozen.

The initial artwork confirms that the Studio Tram Tour is going bye bye, too.

Really? Theyre going with one big release in 2021 instead of adding them over time? That seems foolish, I would happily go and check out the Marvel and Star Wars additions on seperate trips but if theyre holding them allback them I might as well hold off until theyre all ready and go then.

I think this is kinda like what they did with California Adventure, where they just redid the entire park in one go cos it wasn't up to snuff...
