Tony is the best thing about the show. Proper lad. The section a few episodes back with the VIP "we'll do anything if you pay us" bit set my teeth on edge a little but that's Merlin all over, really. Shocked no-one's paid seven thousand pounds to sleep on a madhouse(!)

I wouldn’t say Merlin all over, Lego sure, not Merlin. I mean Merlin like 2 years ago axed the VIP pass that was a blatant pay us lots and be better than everyone pass, the comments on Twitter were strawberry floating hilarious.

Also at Chessington you can do per ride fast passes for a couple of quid compared to the usual package thing for many money.

Merlin seem pretty good, but each park can kind of do their thing and a Lego has always been very money grab, for example everything is 20% more expensive that Chessington for example.

Don't think Merlin made a lot of money off the VIP passes, plus they were utter arses to deal with when they visited from what I hear (which doesn't surprise me).

Their push now is cheap season passes and just sell Fastrack (which they've started doing again even in the current environment cos people).

Although they might change with the new ownership (basically Lego people buying more shares and taking over). I've my doubts though.

Think there's a reason Paultons is getting all the positive reviews these days.

I've never been on board with Merlin charging for fastpasses considering Disney's standard fastpass is available for anyone with a park ticket. Anything to get a few more quid out of people who've already paid crazy money to get through the gates.

I think Disney is moving to the restricted fastpasses as well now. In Florida it's something like only one fastpass a day for a tier 1 ride.

Last year we went a few time’s when filming was going on, a few rides got shut so they could film so am glad it’s decent, would have been strawberry floated off to not get to go on something and then the show turn out to be gooseberry fool.

I only watched the first one, but it made the place look like a poorly run dump :dread:

Lego was always not quite as good as other last year and before, you very rarely got asked “how’s your day been” and felt like staff gave a strawberry float whereas at Chessington there seemed to be more effort from staff to ensure they helped the day be magic.

This year when I have been that has helped so something seems to have been done to really sort that.

That would be a shame, we went to Disneyland Paris for the first time last year and I was really impressed with the default fastpass option that we got with our tickets, really made it easier to get through more rides in the time we had available.

Ironically we went to Legoland about two weeks before this and thought it was utter shite - expensive, terrible waiting times for the rides and most of the things the kids wanted to do were either closed or in the one case broke down whilst we were in the queue!

Awesome and thank you for saying London Resort, sites referring to it as "the London Disney land" boil my piss.

Yeah. I think a lot of people will think there's a Disneyland being built there based on a lot of the articles over the past few years.

Thank god it's near London, the South and that area in particular has an immense shortage of theme parks compared to the rest of the country.

I guess they want it in a place that gets weather other than drizzle.

Yeah, that well-known extension of the British riviera, Dartford.

Weren't Paramount onboard with this at some point so some of their IPs could be used?

They still are, originally the park was planned with solely paramount pictures IPs however that has now changed to Paramount, BBC and ITV. What exactly may appear hasn’t been revealed yet.

I’m still sceptical of the whole thing though as to whether it will happen but a lot of effort has certainly gone into it in the last few years.
