I'm cool with it, I kind of envy it tbh. At least it only had to suffer for a day.

I used to breed parrots and stuff, the only thing you could have possibly done was to have syringe fed it, you buy whats best described as bird porridge and you place a syringe with rubber on it into its mouth and squirt it in, its basically the closest we can do to the vomiting thing mummy birds do, but its blooming hard, they can swallow it wrong and choke on it etc so you only do it if the parents abondend it and its the only thing left to try. Sorry to hear it passed away.

Sleeping to death sounds like a lot better fate than it could have had though.

Yeah I do the same thing with geckos but with fruit if they are sick or chronically undernourished it's possible they can choke on it but if they're not eating they'll die too.

When most wild animals are sick they just stop eating and die as if not to prove a burden to anyone else.

I even gave a gecko CPR once and it lived, it's still living with another keeper and has even had babies I believe.

However I've lost two geckos in the past couple of months, I think I'm cursed, nothing can escape my touch of death.

Are you certain it's not sleeping?

But I like Karl Ladyfinger. Sadly while on hold to the RSPCA we checked to find the bird is dead. It's parents never fed it in time so it slept itself to death. Better than mawling and eating by cat I guess.

So now I hate these rooks again because they're not only loud and obnoxious, they're rubbish parents.

RIP In Peace Karl Ladyfinger.

Dang, man, I wasn't expecting a sad ending :-(.

It's good that you did your best though, Gecko. RIP Karl Lf.

I did at one point have it lay upside down in my palm and then it woke up and flapped around. But that was before and this is now.

It had rigormortis, legs stuck out, no response from eyes. I even tossed it up and down once or twice gently, like a ball. Believe me, it's very dead.

I put it back in the bush.

Edit: ya got me worried for a second, so I went to check with a torch. Yup, still dead.

I mean, we are effectively upside down in Gecko's hand, flapping manically but not having enough strength to go anywhere. One day we'll be getting The Bush too.

Spoilers in the thread title? Really? That emotional rollercoaster was absolutely ruined for me.

Did you bury Karl Ladyfinger in the back garden, cremate him/her while playing the bagpips or just chuck the carcass in the bin?

Or mystery fourth option: left it on the patio and let the circle of life continue?
