F-Zero GX was great, but it wasn't as good as X thanks mainly to the fact that many of the ships had a lot less grip.

In F-Zero X, the Black Bull ship would stick to the track like glue and it was so effective, but the GX version was much more prone to sliding around.

The graphical style of the new Pokémon game. Please make the sizes more accurate to the anime and reduce the depth of field so they have more of a presence. These are supposed to be monsters...

The general unfinished, bug-addled nature of so many games being released. Atari (cough Infogrames cough) circa 2003-04 is now normalised behaviour, where you can ship a game to the same shoddy standards of Enter the Matrix or Driv3r - in some cases, worse - but with the attitude of 'oh, we'll fix it tomorrow'. On one hand, we're now not permanently stuck with a broken release like we would have been in the past - or having to wait for a cartridge (WWF No Mercy) or disc (Metropolis Street Racer) to arrive in the mail, but on the other it's now become so normalised to push blatantly unfinished products out the door for 60 QUID.

In the last 4 months alone we've had to put up with Cyberpunk (one of the worst cases of a broken product I can ever remember), Call of Duty Cold War and DiRT 5.

The problem is that there's no repercussion for releasing games in this state. People seem more than willing to buy a game on release regardless of how it runs. I've never really understood it, especially pre-ordering, as you're paying for the game when it's at its most expensive and in its worst state (performance-wise). Just looked at Cyberpunk - an absolute mess, but people lapped it up. Where's the incentive for publishers to wait for games to be ready and performing well before releasing them? Especially when you can prevent outlets from reviewing the game before release. Like you say, it'll be even more galling once the price of games go up. The only thing that'll stop it is if people don't buy them, but it doesn't seem like that will happen.

I rarely buy anything on release now because of this. Also I'm a miser. It always better to pay less money for a product that actually works.

I'm still pissed off they sneakily removed the blood too for no apparent reason.

I think my copy of Metropolis Street Racer was one of the ones with the score calculating bug (gave you far too many points for powersliding and slipstreaming) but I couldn't be bothered with sending off for the fixed version as it didn't bother me that much.

That red/white bouncy spinner in the carnival night zone on Sonic 3.

By far the most annoyingly stupid thing I ever came across in a 16 bit game.

There was no way back then of knowing how to work the damn thing either, no hints, nothing!

Found myself swearing at it again when I got sonic mega collection for the GameCube too!

I think I must have subconsciously retained the knowledge about that as when I first played Sonic 3, several years after release, I knew what I was supposed to do.

It is bloody stupid though.

I'd completely forgotten about it by the time i played the Gamecube version, along with how to get past it (which i think was probably down to sheer dumb luck first time around).

Games that are nothing but a continuous carousel of dopamine hit inducing yet superficial rewards.

Games that don't immediately entertain me within 5 minutes of booting them up.

The modern world has ruined my brain.

Tiny, unreadable text in games strikes again.

Just tried playing Tyranny after having it installed for several months without starting it and had to abandon it after a few minutes as I literally cannot read any of the in-game text, there's plenty of room onscreen to accommodate larger text but no, the devs decided to use a tiny font in small text boxes for "reasons".
