Client a few weeks ago told me the halogen lights in my office were going to cause me to develop brain cancer. Turned out he wasn't insane though; just Canadian.

We just put the Access Point somewhere else and didn't tell him.
Was so tempting to tell everyone who complained about no Wifi that they needed to speak to him to find out why :slol:

i would have told everyone, yep some numpty keeps turning it off so blame him.

I remember on my old IT desk job we use to get loads of alerts for small sites routers dropping off the network and it was constantly due to cleaners unplugging the router so they could hoover. We then get asked what we can we do to prevent this from happening from the customer, how dim can you get. Tell them to stop strawberry floating unplugging the thing.

in other I.T stuff i think my biggest annoyance with the industry are these huge companies that say they do incident and problem management but employ loads of people who know gooseberry fool all about I.T and when i say gooseberry fool all i mean basic stuff like duplex mismatching , NIC card upgrades and just general LAN, WAN switch and router setups plus what resilient networks actually are. Nothing in depth and complicated and they seem to know nothing. It's scary that this kind of stuff goes on for large businesses around the globe.

I was off work on Monday and was flicking through the channels. The Wright Stuff had Jim Davidson on. :fp: I'm sure that woman you are taking about is far less annoying.

Probably a poor time to mention this considering they were just discussing whether the 'Rear of the Year' award is degrading or not, but the phone girl on today's show was a bit fit.

Strange hairline though.

Condensation on glass. So you'll have a cold drink in a glass...and you then end up with a table strawberry floating soaked. Like I have right now.

Fuckwit drivers. :fp:

There's a busy main road going out of the city which I use every day. There's houses on one side, and countryside on the other side.

Going along there this morning, on the side with houses, doing 50mph. Suddenly this Range Rover comes out of strawberry floating nowhere from one of the driveways, pulls right out in front of me.

I was so close to it that the brakes would've done nothing, so I had to swerve violently to the right. Just (narrowly) avoided it. Luckily there wasn't anything in the other lane. Just mental. What the strawberry float are you doing? Why would you not look, and if you did look, why can't you wait three seconds for me to pass?

They either pulled out without looking (stupid, given how busy the road is) or saw me and just thought 'strawberry float it'. :x :fp:
If I'd been even vaguely distracted, I would've gone straight into it at 50mph.

The News :fp:

Story 1: People screaming, children injured, many emotions all around.
Story 2: LOL LOOK! These Australians got a selfie with the queen!!! And we won some medals!!!!!

Why on earth wouldn't they talk about other serious stuff, go to break, and then come back with the light gooseberry fool.

Flies. Damn flies. :fp:

I open the window, and within 30 seconds a fly comes in. I kill it. Then a few minutes later, another one comes in. I kill it. Rinse and repeat all strawberry floating day. Literally every few minutes they're coming in. They're retarded beyond belief as well - able to find the smallest gap to get in, then flying around like a maniac unable to get out. Good thing I've become so adept at swatting them. Twats. :x

Seconding this. The news is a joke. The single easiest thing you can do to make your life better and just enjoy yourself more is to avoid the news at all costs. The news hasn't been about actually informing the public for a very long time. It's about playing to all of the lowest common denominator human emotions. i.e fear, desire, competition. Or in practice, how many people have died today, what celebrities are currently doing, and what sporting events are currently occuring.
