The conductor of a train is in a separate compartment, so no.

Here we can get off at the front or back of the bus, I normally make an effort to get off at the front to say thank you, unless it's too crowded to do so, if I get off at the back I won't normally shout to say thank you, but I've seen plenty of people do it and never thought it to be weird, it's just someone being friendly.

The way you talk about it makes it seem like you find the very idea disgusting.

Also calling the commonwealth games 'GLASGOW TWENTY FOURTEEEEN' every time got old fast.

A lot of people here in Bristol thank bus drivers. I don't know if you know what the Bristol accent sounds like, but as people leave the bus they say in their finest west country accents "cheers drive!".

See that is absolutely acceptable and after all, just being polite. Most polite people say thanks to the cabin crew and pilot if they have opened the door and stepped out when they exit a flight too. All normal behaviour.

Clapping though. Not cool. I have a very real fear that one day when I am 'Bus Wankering' it that someone claps a bus driver for pulling up at the bus stop on time and without killing anyone.

Yeah Ill say thanks and what not when I get off the plane but clapping for a successful landing is a bit much. The ability to land a plane is the bare minimum I expect from a pilot. Thankfully Ive only ever witnessed it once, helps that I never fly Ryanair when I can avoid it I guess.

I saw it a lot when I was younger but I've only seen it once in the past ten or so years. I was coming back from France and there was a group of school children on the plane as well. It was mainly then clapping, and they started it off, so I'm sure it was more for the lulz than anything else.

I guess maybe 20 years ago it was a big deal to be on a plane for some people, I do have a very vague memory of cheering but I think that was just my mum being jovial and supporting her kids for something that can otherwise be a scary experience.

Serves you right for being comfortably well-off.

Am I doing this right?

No. My talents run beyond putting small to medium size objects onto a shelf and looking sullen.

As I work in retail and a good few of the people on my friends list do also, I just couldn't resist pasting that up on Facebook.

People that stop to have a chat in the middle of aisles or park their shopping trolley across it. Shows a complete lack of courtesy for everyone else around you.

Sometimes feel like saying "Yeah, can you 2 exchange phone numbers or something as I'm trying to buy some strawberry floating BANANAS. CHEERS."

Funnily enough I have the same problem in my town with pikey's stopping their Toyota Hilux's in the middle of the road, blocking traffic on both sides so they can have a good chat. banana splits.

There seems to be a Curb or Seinfeld clip for every occasion. Larry David is a visionary.

The worst about doing the shopping for me personally is when you see people who either drag their husbands or wives who don't do the shopping normally into the equation as they stand next to the person hovering around doing nothing. I've complained about it before, but it makes me so angry. The problem is I'm too polite to say anything so stand looking at something I don't evven want to buy until they move out the way.

It's the same as people who get out their mobiles and have phone conversations right in the way of the object I want.

I wouldn't say it's polite to wait for people to get out of the way; just walk into the space and say excuse me or sorry or whatever, that's not impolite and gets the job done.
