I like being able to see and pick out the food I'm going to be using during the week, I can then also get the ones with the best dates on. I'll have the shopping delivered online sometimes, but I much prefer going to the shops themselves and it's something I've done with my Nan since I began (my Mum used to do our shopping with my Nan and late Grandad) and it's really nice getting to spend a little bit of alone time with my Nan, especially since I have such a big close family.

I totally get why you do it as you're in the house all the time, it's just people who work out all week wasting their time with people in shops, AND it's more expensive.

I've shopped both online and in the supermarket and I can confirm in my instance that it's cheaper to actually go to the shop (with Sainsbury's), well it's the same price but then you add on the delivery charge and it makes it more expensive.

No idea where you shop to find it's cheaper to get groceries online.

I prefer to leave the house every so often. Plus, like strawberry float am I paying some banana split in a van a fiver to drop off my shopping because I'm too lazy to go and get it myself.

Personally I just make sure I buy more than I can carry so I just compare the delivery charge to the cost of a taxi, which is about the same, and it saves me a lot of time and hassle.

Factor in petrol/diesel costs and it balances out the delivery cost over a month, plus when you buy online it's a lot easier to pick and choose things they are on mulit buy etc. in the shops you'd have to go to every isle and look for things like that.

Plus I just don't like being in shops with other people

Free bottle of Champers if you shop online with Waitrose this month.

You've gotta spend over £50.00 but there's shitloads of half price & multi save deals on, so we've just shopped the deals and it's all stuff we'd buy anyway.

How is it more expensive? I don't pay anything to travel to and from supermarkets as either do it in my lunchbreak at work or walk to the shop on the weekend. Exercise. I hate having to be at home at a certain time to accept a delivery.

Plus, as Qikz says, you can pick the freshest items with the longest shelf lives and the best examples (this is particularly important for meat and fruit). And when you order food online, if they don't have your item in stock they just don't give it to you. I'd rather know what I can and can't get, so I can get it elsewhere, if I want.

Don't be forgetting the reduced to clear sections. Pick up some outrageous bargains on those.

In the Tesco near my work the 'bargains' are atrocious. They'll have gooseberry fool like some obscure cheese dip that'll expire in a day for reduced by 5p.

It's probably because most people who work nearby are accountant and financial people who get paid a fuck-load. I dunno.

All these shitty BBC series they keep churning out. Just seen an advert for a new one, The Musketeers. No doubt will be just like Merlin, Robin Hood, Atlantis. All have that same look and low-budget feel. Absolute shite.

Gotta go at the right times. I've seen those terrible discounts, I've been fortunate enough to nab stuff like 400g of beef mince from Waitrose for 39p.

I don't do online shopping because they always give you the stuff that's about to go out of date rather than the freshest stuff.
That and even when you tell them not to they try substituting stuff.

I've not had anything substituted in over a year or had things that had a shorter than expected shelf life. They must just not like you.

 I've known of someone ordering black pudding online with Tesco and receiving chocolate pudding as a substitute.

I also once ordered garlic puree and received tomato puree which just doesn't make sense. I would have much preferred some fresh garlic which they'd surely have in.

25-40% reduction early afternoon
50-60% late afternoon
^afternoon reductions are based upon expected sales
75%+ late evening
^clearance

Don't say I'm not good to you.

Well that's just common sense. Except, Waitrose reduces their stuff (and it sells quickly) at 9am. So best to go there first. M&S start around midday and again, their stuff goes quickly. Then there's Tesco that has piles of shite with the occasional alright deal at late afternoon, then Morrisons which seem to knock 12p off a £10 dinner until literally 5 minutes before closing time when there's a proper bargain to be had.

Yeah, I do the food shopping in this house. I spent about £25 yesterday and that's us good for a week, with a variety of indulgent meals, snacks and a surprising amount of vegetables which will no doubt go off before I can eat them all. I'm working all weekend so it's 3 days of crock-potting.

This song:

Outrageously bad, the banana split doesn't even attempt to keep time with the beat.

What is the point of that remix? He can't sing, he can't rap and he's just made the song unquestionably worse.

His vocals are autotuned to strawberry float. I LOVE IT.
