Not everyone wants to use a credit/debit card just to buy a packet of biscuits.

I said they can leave one machine for those people still in the 19th century

But then those of us who are to use this lone machine, hold up the queue as we wait for it to become available, thus causing the exact problem which was being moaned about earlier.

Obviously separate queues would be needed

Are they literally brain dead? Their entire purpose at that precise moment is to pay for the items they are purchasing. They are waiting to do exactly that. Why does it take the attendant calling them forward for them to move?

I find it worse when some gooseberry fool is standing at the queue that is combination self server and person waiting for the person to be free despite self service being free and at no point goes "does any want to use the self service"

Christmas. I'm happy for the people who enjoy it, I truly am, I just wish there was an easy way to opt out of it. My immediate family are fine with that, they'll give me whatever space I need. But there seems to be a lot of people who just don't get that Christmas is a bad time for me and inevitably it's the same people year in year out. I think what hurts most is the whole "you're a scrooge! you're a grinch!" when the last thing on my mind is to ruin everyone elses fun, I just want to get my head down, mind my own business and get through it. And in the years where I am feeling better and want to celebrate in my own little way then I'm not doing it "right" because I have my own alternative Christmas playlist or the Christmas t-shirt I chose is too geeky/not festive enough or my tiny tree that I love isn't big enough/decorated enough, full enough. I mean, give me credit for at least making an effort at a time that's usually difficult for me.

TL;DR version. Christmas can be hard for some people, give them some slack

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

I really don't get why others try to dictate how you should do Christmas. It makes no difference to them how you do it, so why should they have an opinion on how you're doing it? But they'll keep giving them, even though you've said time and again it doesn't matter to them or reasons why you're doing things different. As with most things, it's always about their perception of how things should be without understanding any other point of view.

Don't let them get you down. You have your reasons. They should butt out.

Shopping for trainers. Christ, it's so overwhelming. I never know what to buy, so many discounts, designs, brands, prices, fits, retailers...

I ultimately end up getting frustrated, not caring about the price and buying something that isn't even on a sale.

And then some boring bastard will come tell you how Adidas is better than Nike, but then Nike is superior to Puma...you know what mate, I don't give a gooseberry fool.

I find Christmas day fairly draining but purely in a physical sense due to my disability (and complications thereof). I don't cope well with early starts as I don't sleep very well, I have digestion issues so eating a large meal often makes me feel a bit crap afterwards and a lot of christmas food is now too difficult for me to eat (pigs in blankets, roast potatoes and mince pies in particular).

I still like Christmas but it is a challenge to keep the "festive spirit" sometimes.

The way Youtube thinks just because I watch one video about a thing, I want to watch videos by the dozen about that thing every day for the rest of my life.

Online grocery substitutions. Sometimes they're so damn asinine and lacking in logic you have to believe they've either been chosen for their own personal amusement or the picker is just one thick son of a bitch:

Unfortunately they'd billed me for the additional pizzas. :fp:

3-5 days for a refund. Thinking about it, that may have been a big deal for someone. Could have sent a person overdrawn for example.

That's a gooseberry fool system, I get the odd sub from Tesco and their rule is if they sub you pay the new item price only if it is less than the original otherwise you pay the price of the item being replaced.
