This thread has officially moved into angry dad territory, scared of the youth with their tattoos, piercings, rainbow hair and loose respect of the English language.

I agree, when I was younger if you said "what he is doing is sick" it would be something dissugting and now its something good, I wonder at what point it changed

Since at latest 1983

Maybe it changed in America but not at my school in the middle of England

It was a thing when I was in secondary school in the early 2000s

Sick hasn't "changed" meaning though, as it still retains its original meaning. Unlike for example "terrific" that is now almost only used positively. If anything I'd say the alternate positive meaning of sick is falling back out of fashion.

I didn't think anyone other than Joey Essex used Sick to mean someting good because whenever anyone says it they just looks like a total toss pot.

It's probably to do with how much you watched the Simpsons and were 10 in the 90s.

I think it depends on region. Young Aussies still seem to use it all the time.

It can also be used in the context of someone doing something horrible 'sick thing to do/what a sicko'

But using it for anything else is dumb.

I also hate the term 'drop' for something being released, you don't drop an album, you release it, if you dropped it, you'd have to bend down and pick it up!

A Margaret Thatcher tattoo usually does the trick.

Or if the “riddance” part has faded away.

When you open a packet of medicine and you always open the end of the packet that has the instructions wrapped around the bottom, so you have to close that and open the other end. It's like the medicine equivalent of trying to plug in a USB cable.

Had the opportunity to walk a few miles around my neighbourhood today. Dang it, I can't believe how much rubbish is around, nor how frequently you find bags / sacks of stuff (and, sometimes, mattresses and furniture) just dumped on the street.

I live in an area where housing is pretty expensive (very modest but London pricing) and yet people seem to treat it like one huge bin. Heck, some people's front driveways actually look like tips.

Hurrumph.
