I used to live a five minute walk from there, if you go again in the future I know a few spots relatively close by that you can park for free that are worth trying before you go for the paid options and get strawberry floated.

My student digs for the first year of my PhD were a stones throw from the Motorpoint, very handy.

Where did you park, surely the St David's parking would be way cheaper than that and is right by the arena?

it is cheaper, but this one I can drive straight out of and be on my way without having to sit and queue.

A mate asked to borrow something I use a lot (lol ur mum's dildo) and as i was going away for a week, i said perfect you can have it while I'm away and then bring it back in on my first day back. I text last night to say I'm back and ask how he got on with it, and the reply was "I didn't have time, can I have it for this weekend?"

:|

It's been 2 weeks now and they haven't used it at all. I've asked for it back today, let's see what happens.

That sort of thing happens so often that I never offer to lend anybody anything. And I really resent it if somebody asks.

Why is it so hard to just give things back? :x

Yeah I think I'm done lending things to people now. The last 3 things have been like this.

Lent someone a game they asked for and they didn't play it at all in a month so I asked for it back.
Someone asked to borrow a 4k bluray, they had it 2 months and didnt watch is so I asked for it back.
Now this.

I think the worst part is the gooseberry fool I get given when I ask for stuff back. "But little Timmytakes up so much of my time, I just don't have time! Why can't I keep it longer?! :| "

Not my problem.

Only if you don't have time again, then 'forget' to bring it in again and then make me wait until next Monday.

People who plug their electronics in anywhere they want. We get this all the time in the library. We have signs on the sockets telling people not to use them, at one point we had socket protectors in any sockets that weren't being used. People just removed them. They unplug computers so they can charge their phones. We've had people at desks with wires trailing across the floor plugged into floor sockets that have safety warning stickers on them telling them they aren't to be used. We've had people sat on the floor next to pillars charging their phones. You tell people to unplug it, they do, 5 minutes later you walk by and they've just plugged it back in. There have been people who have plugged in their devices and just walked off. Then moan when you've unplugged it and taken it to lost property. I'm sorry that it's inconvenienced you but (1) you shouldn't plug it in there and (2) I assumed you'd rather staff unplugged and handed in your Macbook/iPad/phone to lost property while you left the strawberry floating building to buy snacks rather than have it stolen. pretty stupid of me huh?

The most annoying part of this is we have 2 charging points each with 8 sockets. And 8 study booths with sockets too. None of these are ever full.

On a related note, why do people assume that a library is going to have chargers for mobile phones. Carrying a plug (or even better, a portable battery charger) is your responsibility, don't take it out on staff. And no, I haven't personally brought my own plug or battery charger in to work but you know what, even if I did I wouldn't lend it to you anyway. You're a customer who is likely to just wander off with it. Besides, you'd just plug it in to any other socket than the ones you're allowed to use anyway.
