If you can't think of anyone annoying in your office, you're probably the annoying one

Back pain. It feels like there's nothing you can do against it.

Dang, Jenuall, you were so close to making another "no context" post but it just misses the mark. It only needed a bit of playing with and then I would have been happy.

Too many of my posts were ending up in there so I've been trying to change that!

It was becoming something of a bad habit, like I was ramming it down peoples throats.

Though I must admit I have been finding it hard to pull out, people seemed to be enjoying it so much.

It was so hard. It's a relief that you've managed to bring it up for me actually.

My pass at work has stopped working on one of the doors in the office so when I went to take a comfort break just now I couldn't walk through the door that is right by the toilets and instead had to walk around the entire perimeter of our building to take a door on the other side.

Then when I get there I find that the cleaner is in there so those toilets aren't available (good luck poor soul, hopefully the strawberry floating shite monster hasn't been in today...) so I have to head downstairs, but no my pass isn't working on that door either so I have to circumnavigate the building again just to use another flight of stairs!

Then when I get downstairs it seems that someone has decided today is the day to lift the floor and do some cable maintenance so there is a massive hole in the floor right in front of the toilets and I basically have to channel my inner Greg Rutherford and leap over the thing just to get inside.

When I came in for work this morning I didn't realise I was going to have to undertake a strawberry floating assault course just for the opportunity to take a gooseberry fool.

Still I make it to the toilet, my fortress of solitude, and think "it's okay, now I can sit in peace and do my disgusting business unhindered by the failures of those around me. This is my time."

Then I open the cubicle and find this:

My old job had a dedicated gooseberry fool toilet upstairs. Reception got so pissed about folk stinking out the one next to the office they fired an email out banning bowel movements from their vicinity.

Bring mental health nurses with a gooseberry fool sense of humour, of course we all went to town on it.

Deliberately snap either your arm or your leg. You will soon forget all about the back pain.

I like the idea of a "dedicated gooseberry fool toilet", very organised!

Tooth breaking crumbling is meant to be a common dream (I've had it loads)

It's "commonly" thought to meant about stress/challenge or fear of change. (Or alternatively powerlessness)

I wonder how people come up with those connections. Is it like a horoscope, or based in reality?

Aye, was basically code. If you’re going to the loo you’ll be right back, if you’re going upstairs to use the bathroom, you’ll be a while. Even the patients knew what we meant. And in the spirit of openness and talking therapies, would often ask how it went. We have to watch them dump sometimes so it’s only fair we’re open about how much better we feel not carrying the bloat of white bread for lunch.

Mobile phone 'upgrade' bullshit.

Years ago I upgraded from a shabby old Sony phone to something better, as part of my contract. This allowed me to have my same tariff, with a new handset and a freebie as a loyalty bonus.

Today I went to look at getting a galaxy s10 (I have a s7). BRAND NEW contracts are extortionate and last for 24 months, so I went to see what my upgrade path would be. Not a single incentive to follow the upgrade path, everything is more expensive, I'd have to pay more for the handset and the tariff costs more with LESS in it.

Yeah great sign me up :fp:

Phones cost gooseberry fool loads now as the stuff in this costs a lot and phone maker have not been selling at little profit for some time so it had to change.

24 month contracts arent new, gooseberry fool O2 and Tesco are now doing 36 month contracts because they look cheaper because you spred the handset cost.

Long-term phone contracts in 2019. Who the strawberry float wants to be tied into one of those?

Check out my YouTube channel!

Constantly being asked if I will accept or reject cookies on websites. Every. Damn. Day.

And of course if you want to reject them it's not just one click like it is to accept, you have to go through to a different screen, often manually de-selecting each type before saving your preference. I often just can't be arsed and leave the website rather than bother with this bullshit.

Someone who wants to pay less probably.

If you want to get a new handset and a decent plan of minutes/texts/data it is still much cheaper to get a long term phone+sim deal than it is to try buy them separately (especially if you are going to do top-up and not get a sim only contract)

My favourite person decided not to go to a big meeting because he didn't see the point, then when he overheard us talking about new procedures being brought in, was all, " WHAT? WHAT'S THIS?! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN THEN".

LOOK you split, either come to the meeting or strawberry float off. I said I couldn't remember what was said. He can find out for himself ffs.

Buying a phone outright and getting a SIM only contract is normally cheaper though? With phone contracts you end up paying over the cost of the phone, it just has the advantage of not being all upfront for those who can't avoid it.

Depends how long you keep your phone somewhat I guess.
