Yep, so annoying. I hate the chirpy American accents they use to advertise it as well, something about it just really grates on me!

Currently hating the auto brightness setting on my work monitor, whenever I need to use command prompt full screen it thinks "oh the screen is full of lots of black, best turn the brightness right down" - except now I can't see anything you piece of gooseberry fool! :x :x :x

I did not enjoy setting up sharepoint sites. Great if you're an ASP/.NET developer, terrible for anyone else.

Not that I've been able to see from exploring the settings so far. It's a new monitor so I've not had much time to tinker with it yet but this feature is proving bloody annoying.

I imagine it's a power saving setting of some sort and whilst I can get behind the idea of reducing power usage I would rather it didn't make it impossible to work!

SharePoint can be great if it isn’t set by a moron and the company actually invests in its development instead of expecting it to magic itself into usability.

It is massively powerful if you have the right peeps to build stuff and plan the implementation properly and get content creators and local champions.

So my parents want to change the name on their Virgin Media account from my dads name to my mums name, since my dad works abroad and the last time we had to call about a fault they refused to do anything until they could speak to my dad.
He's home at the moment so we called them up earlier today and asked to just change the name on the account. They said they'd mail a form to the e-mail address registered on the account for us to fill in and complete, didn't even ask to speak to my dad at all. When I checked the form it states that the following is going to happen,

  • They'll close down the existing account
  • They'll open a completely new account under the new name
  • The new person will undergo a full credit check
  • The new person will be entered into a brand new minimum term contract
  • New person must provide 2 forms of ID

All to just change the name on an existing account! :x  :fp:

That's mostly because service providers can't legally enter somebody into somebody else's contract, so it's a good idea to get two people in a relationship on the same contract if they live together and same with housemates etc. Even then, somebody has to be the "lead" contact or "named person".

When you're parked right at the back of a deserted car park and some strawberry floating melter has to park within inches of your car. Do they think their car will get lonely or something?

:dread:

Judging by the state of some of the cars I think people use them as strawberry floating guiderails. Almost always a woman as well

I've heard people use the other car thing as justification.

How about use the white lines for guidance and learn to drive.

I swear 99% of Bristolians don't even realise there are white lines. They just park wherever they feel like, hence me trying to hide as far away as possible!

That makes no strawberry floating sense at all. Keep within the lines. Not hard.

Melle Mel is the only White Lines we recognise in Bristol.

When you are in a bar having a talk with someone, and the entertainment starts up drowning you out. I don't want to hear two guys butchering Thin Lizzy songs.
