I tried explaining to my mum how heat worked after she made a comment about "letting cold air in" (explaining the concept that cold is just the abscence of heat and that things cool when the theat escapes somewhere).

She just chose not to believe me.

That gooseberry fool right there is why the planet is strawberry floated. People care more about I'm a celebrity than how the planet they are living on functions.

My in-laws are crying on twitter over the death of XS Manchester, claiming that they're, and I quote, "forcing mainstream chart shite on us".

As if XS plays anything other than the most middle-of-the-road indie guff. In what reality are Courteeners and Liam Gallagher not considered mainstream??

It just seems ludicrous to me to gooseberry fool on mainstream music when your bezzie fave artist was the lead singer of strawberry floating Oasis, of all things.

Don't you strawberry floating go bashing oasis. Their output from their first 3 albums, singles and bsides were incredible.

I wouldn't dare. I merely posit that, being responsible for the best selling album of the 90s, they are the very mainstream 'shite' they so strongly detest.

Not sure how to feel about the fact I listen to the same radio station as Peter Crisp.

Whenever we're in the car I'm straight onto Spotify so I don't need to listen to the gooseberry fool they put out over the air.

Radio is basically the only option I have in my car at the moment, at least until I can be arsed to buy one of those tape to 3.5mm jack converters and use my phone to listen to stuff.

I used to listen to Radio 4 most of the time - Today programme for the drive in and PM for the drive home, but news/politics has been too depressing for a while now so I just stick Radio 2 on and suffer whatever "banter" they are pumping out. :dread:

Even though it has probably been about 10 years since they stopped I still miss the Adam and Joe breakfast show that used to be on Saturday on 6music.
