That's the g spot

Wouldn't that be the middle of the berry seeing as that was originally the part of the flower that got pollinated in this weird berry/vagina analogy.

Horizontal and vertical centre is too expected. We intend to shock people.

Many problems, yes. Apt GCSE annotation.

Over the last couple of years there seems to be this trend of letting grass verges, hedgerows, fields, gardens etc grow instead of cutting them back all the time. I guess the view is to encourage bees, butterflies, and other insects to flourish a bit more, and it probably looks a bit nicer too I think. I'm all for it generally, but I've noticed recently that it's happening in areas where it causes problems.

Firstly, at the end of roads - you're trying to see if there's any traffic coming, but there's a bloody great hedge in the way and you can't see gooseberry fool. You can literally only see what's coming by being in the road already. Surely it's not difficult to trim it back a bit and make sure drivers can see.

Secondly is coming up to roundabouts. There was a bizarre trend a few years ago around here where fence panels had been put up on the approach to roundabouts, meaning you couldn't see anything coming and had no chance of anticipating the traffic. This meant you always had to slow down and pretty much come to a stop to check what was coming, instead of being able to gauge the flow of traffic and just join at a lower speed. The fence panels went, but now it's tall grass or hedges that block the view. Surely it makes it more dangerous.

Finally, on slip roads, either on motorways or A roads. Swathes of long grass, big hedges, or even planted tress (!) recently that I've seen, in between the slip road and the road you're joining, and you genuinely cannot see what's coming as you go down the slip road. Only when you're right at the junction with the motorway, for example, is you view no longer obscured. On the flip side, if you're on the inside lane of said motorway, again, you can't see what's coming down the slip road until the last second.

The first point with hedges at the end of roads has always been a bit of an issue, it's just got a bit worse lately. But it's baffling that nobody seems to have considered how dangerous the other two are. I like letting things grow, but there are some places where you need to control things a bit.

In a similar vein wrt road visibility, there's a blind, narrow corner on the end of my street where a garden wall completely blocks your view until you're round it, and for some baffling reason every twat and their dog insists on parking all the way round the inside kerb. It's only a 20 zone, but the amount of near misses I've had... :dread:

We wouldn't need all this overgrown wilderness (either intentionally or otherwise) if homeowners didn't keep paving over their gardens and turning every patch of grass into a driveway for their 4 land rovers.

A someone that has owned a house with artificial turf, it's often out of necessity, especially with new builds.

Essentially, certainly here in West Sussex, almost all of the grounds that new build estates are built on aren't fit for purpose in terms of drainage. You end up with what amounts to a flood plain; rain doesn't escape into the ground, it sits on it and will very slowly run down any slope that exists on the plot, pooling and puddling.

Homeowners are increasingly having to have gardens excavated and filled with a sub-base of gravel to facilitate drainage. This then needs to be topped with artificial turf because grass won't grow on gravel. This isn't cheap to do either - in 2017 it cost us just shy of £3k for a small garden - Lord knows what it'd cost now.

Real, pristinely kept lawns aren't a great deal better for the environment in fairness.

Its still actual plants not plastic, its soil that drains not concrete or some other sealed subfloor. Its more the idea that people are clearing all plants from their garden, smearing it in plastic grass that looks gooseberry fool and sitting back and calling it awesome.

If you were to draw a venn diagram of people with plastic lawns and people who watch love island, it would be a circle.
