Here's one - having to, in 2021, remind people to check their junk email for contact from external clients.

I haven't got the email!!!!!!

Check your junk email folder.

Oh there it is!!!!!!!!

Yup. Checking spam/junk has become a habit just because of how much ordinary stuff ends up in there.

No, Outlook, just because I deleted a hundred your item is out for delivery emails from Amazon doesn't mean Amazon emails are spam. It rarely happens, but it really is odd that such a thing even happens.

I've got accounts with both but Gmail seems a million times better than Outlook in that regard. I just strawberry floating wish Gmail had folders!

It does, set up tags and filters and tell it to "skip the inbox".

Then when you access Gmail via IMAP instead of POP, you'll see they actually are folders and none of those e-mails will end up in your inbox which can be your unsorted stuff.

Seems a lot of hassle though when they should have just let you stick to using folders if that's your preference. I'll have a look at the Skip Inbox filters, thanks.

David Walliams. His kids books in particular, but the man himself is a collosal cockwomble as well.

I have no idea why he seems to have become the defacto kids author darling because his books are full on trash, just awful, awful stuff - writing style, storylines, characters, tone... it's all pure gooseberry fool.

He so desperately, desperately wants to be the "new Roald Dahl" and the effort to be seen that way literally oozes out of every excrement encrusted page of his prose. But he's nowhere near the same level as everyone's favourite antisemitic kids author, and it's painful to watch his lumbering characters and dialog try to claw its way up to that position.

He obsesses over the same jokes and fills pages with pathetic repetition of the same idea over and over again, and it wasn't good the first time. He wallows in clichés, stereotypes and racist depictions of the few minority characters he deems fit to include. And he tries to use footnotes in an obvious attempt to steal a style from Terry Pratchett but with absolutely none of the wit or talent that the late author effortlessly brought to his work.

Basically the guys a strawberry floating hack and people need to stop indulging his gooseberry fool

Yeah a lot of Gmail's more powerful filter are basically just re-interpretations of existing IMAP tech so that people will take advantage of them.

For those of us loading up our webmail in desktop mail clients since 2000 or earlier and who can actually organise email it's slightly irritating. But then Gmail can do a hell of a lot more than traditional email can or could.

Still pissed they ditched Inbox, that was great.

I agree. He's never been that witty and instead relies on shock humour. Seems to have had a bit of a free pass in today's "cancel culture" given how bad Little Britain was with its racist stereotypes and blackface

And from what I've heard, his books are full of fatshaming and classism. Sneering at poor people isn't really what you want in kids books.

Yeah there's a lot of this kind of thing, it's genuinely quite horrible to read at times

British Shitty Gas

Went online to fix my prices last night and it clearly stated I'd be paying a monthly DD of £111.

Get an email this afternoon saying "thanks for setting up your DD! It'll be £178 a month".

strawberry float off, that's not what I signed up for.

Now I have to waste my time contacting them at some point this week to either cancel it or be fed a crock of gooseberry fool.

2 Things

1) The fact you cannot sort Youtube Playlists in order of episode release (old to new). You can only sort/play from new to old.
2) The fact Youtube doesn't let you reset your watched progress, so Playlists will skip videos it thinks you have completed already.

These are to basic functions that the worlds biggest Streaming website should manage to beable to implement.

(I will be super chuffed if someone calls me a strawberry floating idiot and then tells me how to do the above without downloadning an extension)

And they are just awfully, dreadfully written - Walliams is strawberry floating rubbish. I made the mistake of getting one (worlds worst kids, I think) on Audible, and listening to it in the car as I thought my son would enjoy it. He did….for a couple of the short stories but then got really fed up of it, thankfully. It’s read by strawberry floating Williams himself, which somehow manages to make the whole thing worse, especially as he, the actual strawberry floating writer of this mess, struggles with it due to its terrible prose.

‘Said the boy’, ‘said the man’, ‘said the boy’, ‘said the girl’ all the way through, like the prick thinks avoiding pronouns makes him strawberry floating Camus.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.
