I have been staying at my in laws for a few days (to be fair that's usually the central subject of my posts in this thread, not just the intro
). I could hear a weird scrabbling above the cabinets in the kitchen and thought it may be a wasp in its death throes or something. I have a phobia of wasps and bees that I've been working on over several years. I'm much better with bees but wasps are still problematic for me - I hate eating outside at this time of year for instance because I know I'm going to have to embarrass myself by jumping up at least once.
Any way, turns out it wasn't A wasp, it was several hundred wasps in a nest in their kitchen roof.
In fairness to the stripy banana splits they're pretty docile. I can quite happily walk down the side entrance of the house less than ten feet away and they don't care. I thought I'd be getting attacked constantly because I'm so close. I've even managed to deal with one getting in the house which is a big improvement for me.
