The chocolate digestive adverts are doing my nut in. They are making out like a chocolate digestive is an unknown thing that people need to discover it's strawberry floating ridiculous.

That we're seeing articles on news websites and posts of social media all about how we must remember to treat shop staff with respect.

It's not the articles/posts themselves, it's the fact they have to exist at all. Like it's some sort of news flash that it's not acceptable to be a banana split.

Another reminder that we share a planet with an overwhelming number of self-centred twats.

Works both ways too, i've encountered far too many surly, rude, and downright unpleasant shop staff over the years.

We really do, and people are without a doubt getting way way worse.

I'm not a dick to retail workers because I worked in Tescos for five years, and I understand what it is like.

Same with call centre work. In my experience, people are much worse on the phone than in person.

A lot of people end up like that in retail because everyone else treats them like gooseberry fool (customers and management) and they don't get paid nearly enough money.

I'm always as nice as possible to retail workers and call centre agents. I've worked in call centres for years, and I know all too well how outright nasty some people can be. Worst customer I ever had was a vicar, absolutely screaming down the phone at me because apparently the website not letting him choose "Fr" as his title was "religious discrimination".

You can guarantee that whichever option I pick first will be the wrong one as I'm always unsure whether the switch should be on the left or right depending on my answer. I swear it's different on different websites too so I'm always second guessing it.

It's like when you're sure you're holding the USB cable the correct way around and then you've still got it wrong.

That's a #darkpattern. Simply reverse the direction of the switch so that someone unwittingly consents to sharing their information for marketing purposes instead of rejecting it, or to enable a persistent subscription payment be taken from your account instead of disabling it.

Reply All sagas in a big business really highlight the idiots when you get people Reply All-ing to a company wide email and then you get people Reply All-ing telling them not to Reply All and then you get people Reply-All-ing asking to be removed from the mailing list, and hundreds of emails later the server gets clogged up and goes down :toot:
