[Rules p.1] Things that annoy you guys. 100 percent. Not gonna lie

FFS, recently bought a Surface Go from Amazon but had to buy from a marketplace seller as the model I wanted was unavailable, had an email today confirming despatch with a n estimated delivery of the 30th so can't cancel the order and now the bloody thing is back in stock and available with Prime delivery.

The estimated delivery date was completely wrong, it arrived this morning.

I'm now annoyed at being annoyed for nothing.

Amazon is weird. I can get a black XL cartridge for my printer tomorrow but specifically Cyan is subject to delay because "delivery will take longer to get here" so that one is next Monday.

So in other words they have a black cartridge (and all the other colours except Cyan) specifically for my printer in one warehouse, and a Cyan one 100 miles away.

It would make sense to have all the cartridges in that model and colours in stock in one place but whatever. Doesn't irritate me just a bit strange.

(Not to mention all 4 carts for my printer cost £100 and the dedicated cartridge websites even with "price promises" want £40 each :dread:

)

When I'm really busy at work I tend to wear my headphones. Woman who sits opposite me can see that I'm busy and that I have my headphones on, but still will just start talking to me at random. She's literally mid-sentence before I notice and have to take off my headphones and ask her to repeat what she'd said, which usually ends up being some inane non-work-related drivel that I have to politely pretend to be interested in. This happens several times a day and she doesn't seem to have twigged that 1) headphones = busy, and 2) headphones = can't strawberry floating hear you.

Grinds my gears.

By the nine divines she sounds like a right annoying one!

I do find people tend to want to talk to you as soon as you do something like put headphones in, start eating lunch, try to watch a very important YouTube video etc.

Practically everyone I work with does that. It's infuriating. I'm wearing headphones for a reason- I don't want to talk to you!

Last time I wore headphones I opened my eyes and my.mum had left a steaming hot cup of tea by me.

That's what I do, and people soon give up trying to engage you in conversation.

But it annoys me because even producers of decent informative videos like Linus Tech Tips have gone down this route, because it gets so many more hits. So where his old videos had titles like "New NVidia Geforce Video card reviewed" with a picture of the video card and the title superimposed in clear text, so they've gone from this:

to this:

(Apple haven't "killed" it, they just made it a little big)

or this:

(Doesn't even tell you that the video is about Microsoft all in one hardware)

Digging this post up again to confirm my hatred of YouTube face. We've been trying to use YouTube to research places for a potential weekend break somewhere, and while searching people's own videos is inevitably going to turn up a lot of self centred gooseberry fool, the volume of it is infuriating.

Whenever i've tried doing that, i usually end up faced with endless videos by shouty vloggers with lots of quick cuts and arty farty camera angles, and which show little or nothing of note of the actual places they're in.

That's why when i film somewhere, i just show places as they are without any of that nonsense, seems to work too as i get a lot of positive feedback as a result.

I would never even have thought of using YouTube to research that sort of thing, and this is just one of the reasons why! :lol:

If I film places I visit I like to do either walk arounds like little loops of the place or still "videographs". No commentary or exaggeration necessary.

It's ruining youtube for me. I didn't watch a lot of it anyway, mostly recorded games of Magic the Gathering, or the odd instructional video. But like you say it's all BIG FACE WITH ABSURD EXPRESSION HOLDING ITEM NEAR THE CAMERA IMPACT FONT

Had some dental work done a little while back that I knew was partly covered by my works health insurance plan but for a variety of reasons (moving house, dentist being slow at providing an itemised invoice etc.) I hadn't got round to submitting my claim.

Found out today that the claim has been rejected because it's 1 day outside the validity period for submission!
