The problem is the dogshit mobile phone app you're forced to use to do anything with the video. It worked ok a few weeks back, but now all my stuff is just trapped either on their servers in 'the cloud', or locked within the app if I download it. Any attempt to save it locally (so I can pass it on to someone) results in a failure. Can't do anything with it, tried every trouble shooting thing going.

Why the strawberry float is this locked behind a mobile phone app? There's no desktop version available. For strawberry float sake.

I have similar annoyance with the app for my earbuds, I listen to music on the PC 99% of the time but can't adjust any settings (of the earbuds) as there isn't a desktop app.

Turns out there is a desktop version, it's just treated as legacy now. strawberry float knows what's wrong with the phone app, because it appears to be the only place you can apply the cool slow motion effects. At least I can get the footage off the camera by Wi-Fi, then down from the cloud server to my pc.

The M4 motorway. Years of roadworks turning it into a 'smart' motorway ( :fp: ) with endless queues, speed restrictions, speed cameras, etc, and when the lanes are finally all open and running, they still keep the speed limits and average speed checks running :fp: What was the strawberry floating point.

Motorways in general are pretty bad with way too much traffic and maniac drivers, but to make it worse, Highways England and/or the police strawberry floating love slowing traffic down, closing lanes, or closing the motorway for the slightest reason. 'Report of debris', 'report of animals', 'report of incident'...better close everything down and slow things to a crawl. Who cares if there's actually any of those things on the motorway. What's that, a car's sitting on the hard shoulder? Better close the inside lane, slow everyone down to 50mph, and strawberry float up everyone's journey for no reason. God forbid there's a collision or something - the motorway will be closed for hours.

The bit that does my head in about the stretch of the motorway after the brynglas tunnels (which is where I'd join), is that it's at average speed of 50, yet people will just sit in the middle lane and slow to maybe 40 on the slight up hill bit, then as it turns the corner, sometimes go even slower. If you want to go down to the coldra roundabout you have to be in the left lane, and often people will slow to a crawl for no reason, meaning you have to overtake but be limited to 50, with the person in that lane doing 40 :fp:

So your choice then is either sit in the left lane doing 25, go in the middle and maybe hit 40 if you're lucky and not get boxed out for the junction in 2 miles, or go across to the fast lane, do 50 and pray you can then cut back across 2 lanes in time.

It's 50, it's not some trick, you are allowed to do that speed :fp:

Why wouldn't they keep the speeds limits and average speed checks running if they'd turned it into a smart motorway? That's literally how they work.

I have to do this stretch every day of the week. :dread:

We went to a wedding at the Celtic Manor not long ago and getting off at that junction is ridiculous because of all the people going at random speeds and waving around the lanes like it's strawberry floating bumper car season

Amazon's delivery tracking can really screw you over, can't it.

It's coming a week Monday.
It's been dispatched and is arriving Thursday.
Wednesday: it's out for delivery and is 4 stops away.

Currys did this to me with my fridge freezer last year. Booked it in for a certain day and time and they decided to deliver it earlier. The equivalent of that relative/friend who says they're coming at 2pm but turns up at 9am.

Amazon has been one of the more reliable options in my experience - stuff pretty much always comes on the day it said it would. The main negative is the lack of clarity of when on that day it might be arriving until, as you say, about five minutes before they get to you!

Overly officious neighborhood watch type groups.

I signed up to an online one a couple of years ago, which was supposed to be about local recommendations for tradespeople, or warnings about recent spates of break-ins etc.

Instead of which, I get constant e-mail alerts about people squabbling with each other.

Only recently, someone alerted the group to a new milk delivery service, which they feared might be a scam. The idea is to reduce plastic use by having recyclable milk bottles, or seasonal produce in paper bags etc.

They had no evidence it was a scam, but it was just an alert in case it was as the rep had knocked on their door, and was apparently perfectly polite. But still, it doesn't hurt to spread fear and panic JUST IN CASE.

So, I signed up and said I'd report back if it was any good. Only to be then accused of driving traditional local milkmen out of business, even though there aren't any here anyway.

Admittedly, I do now have a fridge full of milk I don't need, my bank account is empty and I'm trading death threats with my neighbours online, but if I can make the world a better place just a bit at the time, I won't stop.

Went out for a cycle as the weather was warm & stopped by my local Sainsburys. Parked my bike up & that strawberry floating disgusting , festering raw sewage / drainage / warm poo smell was lingering again :dread:

Seriously it isn’t hyperbole. There’s smells & then there’s smells like that that make my insides wince. Then I see group of fit chicks that work there, then I’m like that’s probably your gooseberry fool I can smell outside.

Too many obnoxious channels that do that full routine. I get that they need to tell people how to support them, but not every video, and definitely not at the beginning of it. Where's the simple decency of a thank you for watching and only that?

At this point in Youtube's life, I'm guessing everyone does it because it's proven to be an effective strategy
