When I worked for Quasar Walliams came into my work back in the early noughties for a kids party. I wasn't on shift so can't vouch for him personally but he tipped fifty quid so my colleagues liked him! He put on a bit of a scowl when one of them shouted BITTY at him but that would be annoying!

Not read any of his books so can't comment on the quality or ethics of his writing, but he does seem to have assumed the Dahl mantle somewhat. Dahl is well known for having some suspect bits of work, even in the kids titles (that page where he riffs about fat and ugly people being pretty if they smile in The Twits aged badly, even if you could clearly see it was crudely well meaning - the chapter before is openly beardist though

). I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing what Netflix do with the rights they've just got - a live action My Uncle Oswald would be absolute filth :datass:

The fact we haven't had a Detective Pikachu sequel yet. That film was fantastic damnit!

YouTube's inconsistent age verification system.

Because I tend to watch the majority of YouTube videos on my TV this is proving to be a right pain in the arse. I either have to watch them on my laptop using a VPN or download them, stick em on a USB drive, and watch via the PS4. But my internet went down for about 15 minutes last night so I couldn't use the PS4's Media Player either (it only works with an internet connection).

Are all the kids it's supposed to be protecting also doing this? Probably, yes.

It's like that scene in Spiderman 3 where Tobey Maguire is tossing and turning in his bed during a thunderstorm and the black symbiote is creeping around his room - except for me it's my hairy sack, reaching into my arsehole and making me have to get out of bed at least twice, maybe even five times in the night and I'm strawberry floating sick of it!

I wonder why this is. The pandemic maybe? It was a great film, did pretty well at the box office, in streaming and reviewed decently.
