Most of the other people at gigs. :x

We went to see Richard Ashcroft in cardiff last night, and for once the sound mix was strawberry floating fantastic (usually at the cia you can't hear the vocals and the bass is far too heavy). Great, first song was a new one and it was really really good, everyone was having a good time.

Next song, first of the Urban Hymns songs, Sonnet, and out come the phones

:x :x :x Ffs, now all you can see for the entire song is head height mobile phone screens everywhere, you can't see anything, people are now (rightly) getting in to it, and stumbling about, bumping in to people, spilling other people's drinks. The guy behind us decides to put his phone light on while he records bits of the song. The person in front of us is LIVE STREAMING parts of every song, which includes spinning around, bothering other people by filming them, singing to the camera, gooseberry fool like that.

This gooseberry fool continues for the entire gig. This isn't unique to this one (for those who don't do live music), this is every damn live standing event now.

TLDR strawberry floating banana spliting MOBILE PHONES

Also bonus moan:

Oh, I've found a really nice spot to watch from, reasonably close, we're all roughly the same height so I can clearly see the whole stage without having to peer at the back of someone's head, and a nice little gap in front of me...

Other people doing it has never really bothered me, but I do find it weird that so many people are unable to live in the moment and just enjoy themselves. They have to have selfies and videos “to remember it”.

Mobile phones have come a long way, but a crowd shot video of a gig is always appallingly bad, it’s utterly pointless.

It does seem that everything social has to be viewed via a phone screen now. "Look at me at the gig / match / park / club / kebab shop"!

It doesn't count unless people can see you doing it.

It's pathetic. Shameless bragging/showing off, trying to prove to other people that their lives are interesting.

I don’t take any pictures of anything or any selfies or gooseberry fool like that, and the weird thing is that whenever I talk to someone about something I saw or place I went or thing I did they all just seem expectant of a picture. Waiting for some evidence of it.

Then they get kind of confused when I say I don’t have any pics or I didn’t snap anything

Trying to find a recipe online is a strawberry floating minefield. I just was a list of gooseberry fool to buy and instructions on how to put them together. Maybe a wee advert in the sidebar to get revenue. But four pop ups?! Two banners you can’t actually close cuz the x is so small on mobile you end up getting redirected. And sidebar adverts!

When you finally see the webpage there’s an endless spiel about their gran made this and some nostalgia pish and some boring top nobody gives a gooseberry fool about, but can’t scroll past without an intrusive video and your phone has computer aids after 10 minutes of trying to find what temperature to cook aubergine at.

strawberry float all that.

It's 25°C and you're at a Starbucks in an industrial park, not pissing Malaga. Get a strawberry floating grip.

:shifty:

I wish it was more socially acceptable to do this, was running in the park earlier and strawberry floating dying from the heat over here. Couldn’t bring myself to take my t shirt off for the knowledge that I would look like too much of a twat though.

Surely exposing more of your body to the sun would make it worse?

Same thing but banks. They should only be allowed in at off peak times...if they insist on paying their water bills by cheque every week.

More exposed skin means more evaporating sweat so you feel cooler, probably not worth the extra UV exposure though.

Banks aren't so bad at least, they're increasingly replacing manned cashiers with self service deposit machines, so a lot of banks only ever have one manned desk available that all the old people go to whilst I just stroll straight up the self service machine.

I seen Black Sabbath once, and some strawberry floater had a laptop/netbook. That he was held up for a few songs. What a dickhead.

People who park at petrol station pumps when they don't actually need any fuel and are just going into the shop. There are plenty of spaces around the forecourt, why not park there instead of occupying one of the pumps? Really makes you wonder what goes through people's heads.

People are just inconsiderate of anything other than themselves.

Its the same with the recent moorland fires started by some fuckwit who decided to have a barbecue (disposible) and just left it there still burning. The ground is covered in dried vegetation and usually has a layer of peat underneath it, of course it's going to burn.

Yet in the same place where there was a fire over the weekend there were people using barbecues yesterday afternoon :fp:

I am yet to witness this, but that's astonishingly ignorant.

Probably the same lazy banana splits who park in front of the cashpoints and then go in the store and do a weekly shop.

Speaking of petrol stations, there's a Sainsbury's (Sainos :datass: ) near me that does not have enough space in between the rows of pumps so that you can't fit between two vehicles if they are at adjacent pumps which basically means if you pull in to fill up behind two slow bastards then you are sat there waiting for them to finish arsing around before you are able to leave as there is no way to back out again!

Just as bad as people who park at the pumps and then just go into the shop are people who park directly infront of the shop rather than at the actual parking area, and so block anyone from actually being able to pull away from the pumps in order to leave.
