The expedited swim lane on our Kanban board would disagree, very little goes in there that isn’t new urgent stuff either as a buisness need or result of pen testing and stuff.

What the hell does this even mean in plain English?

Another thing that annoys me, business talk.

When a band/musician you really like who rarely tours advertises a 'UK tour, and it's one night at shepards bush in the middle of the week. Yeah great.

If the last few years have taught us anything, it's that the 'UK' means London and strawberry float everywhere else.

That one hits too close to home. I've only ever been to 10-ish gigs in my time, and exactly two of them were in Manchester.

It's not business talk.

Kanban is a way of organising development of project tasks and encourages better working as you limit how many things can be worked on at any one time and you preplan what you will be doing over a month or so period.

Swimlanes run left to right so expeditied, database, service ops what ever and each lane as a bunch of columns like in progress, in review, complete

It makes it easier to see what is going in and who is doing what and how we are performing.

Look up Scaled Agile or Agile SAFe it's very useful in the right environment.

Being put on A&E duty for the 11th time in the last few weeks in between the second busiest areas (St Lukes - 7 wards to cover) when the people doing the daily rota make damn sure they get the easiest jobs.

Now I'm not afraid of hard work and I enjoy it on A&E most of the time, it just narks me that decisions are being made by coordinators who aren't prepared to do a hard days graft themselves and who spend their time sitting in the porters lodge talking and drinking coffee whilst only doing the occasional job when it comes up.

We need to disinvest some funds and the investment managers are insisting on receiving the instruction via fax machine. They refuse to accept originals in the post, emails or anything else.

2019 and these muppets still demand a fax.

If you double down and leverage your skills against this highly synergistic work pattern you will see a significant upturn in core value. That's the bottom line.

In all seriousness though Kanban, Scrum, and Agile in general are strawberry floating great and you guys just need to get on board! :capnscotty:

I would say Kanban is most associated with business and then could be deemed business talk.

If I was to talk about just in time manufacturing or delivery then it would be deemed business talk, just because it's Japanese and exotic sounded doesn't mean it's not business based.

You could use the process in your everyday life but the same could be said of many business practices.

Fax machines should be consigned to the hell between dimensions. We flat out refuse to give our number out now.

I hated them so much.

We’ve done the same. So to disinvest these funds we’ve signed the forms, scanned them and emailed them to our Manchester office (who apparently still have a fax machine somewhere in their building) for them to print and then fax.

Efficient.
