Excellent. Cheers.

I'll buy a pack and then make my way over to Greggs and wave them in the face of the guy who misinformed me about the type of sugar they used on theirs.

When did Greggs stop using proper sugar?
I haven't had one from then in ages but their Jam Doughnuts used to be amazing.

Marks & Spencer ones still use sugar too I think.

"Proper sugar"?

There's room in the bakery for all varieties of sugary goodness my friends. Lets not get sugar-ist about things now!

Not on the outside of a jam doughnut there isn't. Proper sugar or strawberry float off.

I don't have an issue with the Royals per se, but I do find the media coverage quite tiring. Last week I checked the Sky News app whilst on the bog, and the top 4 stories were about Harry and Megan:

"Megan holds umbrella for Harry" (that was genuinely the headline)
"Megan touches Harry's face" (again, an actual news headline)
"Megan and Harry walk barefoot on beach" (very newsworthy)
"Megan and Harry discuss Lizzy Vaid UKIP nudes explicit click here" (might have made that one up)

But I guess I can just avoid the news by chopping off my head, so it's on me really.

Nope, turf 'em out, republic now.

On BBC News right now:

BBC wrote:The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived in Fiji, where Prince Harry has tried kava - a traditional non-alcoholic social drink.

Now that's not really newsworthy, is it Mr BBC journalist man person? No it strawberry floating isn't.

No idea when Greggs stopped using it, but I bought a pack of 'em earlier in the year (around February I think) and they were dusted :dread: in powdered sugar. The texture was *all* *wrong*.

People that interfere in something that doesn’t concern them. :x

A newish person here asked me how to close down a record. As I was halfway through explaining it, the mad woman next to me jumped in, told him a load of rubbish, went over to his desk to show him her way of doing it (which would never work) and then got all flustered when it didn’t work. She then told him to hold on and went off to look up her notes on how to do it. All while not letting me get a word in (even though I was the one asked the question!).

I decided to ignore it but after 10 minutes of hearing her bluster on about it “I don’t understand why it doesn’t work” “I use that system but haven’t for a while” “wait, let me look at my notes again” “why isn’t this working!”, I went over to his desk and showed him how to do it. It took about 5 seconds.

That is EXACTLY like the banana split who sits next to me. Anyone within 4 desk rows of us will have him stick his twatty nose in to anything and everything someone is doing.

Expedia. I booked my honeymoon hotels through them and in the the taxi on the way to the hotel I was looking for my confirmation email and realised I didn't have one. Not normally a mistake I would make but I had a notification from the cash back site I use so I new the booking had gone through and I've never not had a confirmation email so assumed everything was ok. Thankfully we arrived at the hotel and checked in with no problems but as it's a multistop holiday I wanted to make sure that the other reservation was ok. All I've had for days is 'please provide us with the itinerary number'; they have my email, the dates I'm staying and where I'm staying but that is the only reply I've had from five different people.
I just rung the hotel to confirm my booking so I have no issues but this has become a matter of principle now as it is this is an unacceptable level of service and I really hope someone gets bollocked.

Jenuall wrote:The website Quora.

Like lots of other services it is basically a place for people to put up questions and allow others to suggest answers, unlike sites such as Stack Overflow which is designed with a specific type of question in mind Quora attempts to act as a repository for questions on anything.

I have no recollection of signing up to this place but I looked in my spam folder of one of my secondary "signing up for random gooseberry fool" email addresses for what must have been the first time in forever and spotted that I had thousands of emails from them with "questions from this week".

The annoying, or more accurately depressing, thing about this is just how confrontational, racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, stupid and generally horrible all the questions on there seem to be. The vast majority of the questions seem to be asked by US citizens with massive agendas, trying to demonstrate the superiority of their nation and so each question reads as something where the questioner already believes they have the answer and they're just looking for an ego boost from everyone agreeing with them, rather representing any genuine desire to learn or grow as a result of the responses they receive.

For example here is a selection of highlights:

* When will "Great Britain" change their name? Aren't they ashamed of their past?

* As an American, are you completely disgusted by the way which the so-called 'US ally' European countries are treating POTUS Trump's visits when China, America's enemy, treated him with far more respect?

* Should the USA make the UK one of its submissive territories? No nonsense arguments about UK nuclear weapons as I have proven many times that we own and have complete control of the nukes we allowed them to have.

* Should the British queen be forced to work as a maid in the Whitehouse?

* Should the USA dissolve the European Union or allow it to operate under strict conditions?

* Given that no one can stop us if we wanted, should the USA take over the UK and Australia and use their natural resources (Australia) and geographic location (UK) to help enrich the USA?

It's just yet another depressing little window into how deluded many (not all!) US citizens seem to be on their position in the world and how anything beyond their small window of understanding actually operates! :fp:

I know this was posted years ago, but I have emails from the site, but the questions seem to game or anime (mainly DB/Z/S) related. Odd.

I think you do get to pick categories you are interested in when you first sign up which controls what they show you. That said I thought I had picked mainly tech and gaming type categories!
