Questionable at best.

This is why i haven't launched a music themed eliminator, as we'd likely all end up killing each other.

TBF, Johnny Cashes version of Hurt did come first by about, I dunno, 15 years.

Though it is a glorious version of Hurt.

Johnny Cash didn't exactly invent the idea of doing acoustic versions of songs, not sure we can lay this at his door!

Lagamorph wrote:Merlin Annual Passes

Me, my brother and his wife have a family pass that we want to renew, but it expired a while back, plus they want to add their daughter onto the pass as she's nearly 3 so will no longer get free entry, so we wanted to call up and see if we could still renew the expired passes and simply add their daughter at renewal price, rather than paying the extra £30 per person for new passes. However Merlin have basically scoured all traces of their phone numbers from the internet. And when I finally managed to track a number down on an old Hot UK Deals listing you just get a message that the number is no longer in use and to visit the Merlin Annual Pass website instead, which doesn't have the answer to my query.
The best they now do is a "Contact Us" form which says they might phone you back at some undetermined point in the future, but probably when you're busy and not able to take the call.

Their website mentions that they have a Live Chat, but it's only available if you see a Live Chat bubble in the bottom right of the screen, and it's never there.

Unfortunately it seems to be an ever increasing trend for companies to make it as difficult as humanly possible for the customer to actually contact them, and any contact must be on the companies terms and not at the customers own convenience.

Most big companies have Merlin on their staff rewards system. We have them so new passes cost the same as a renewal.

Radio 4. I listen to 'Today' every morning and strawberry floating hell, it's just like listening to the same thing on a loop: summary of the news headlines, speculation on Brexit, interview someone about Brexit, summary of the news, interview someone about Brexit, a bit more speculation on Brexit, maybe something different like an update on Yemen, oh what's that yes it's time for another summary of the news. Every. Damn. Day. And it's the same questions they ask to an endless conveyor belt of politicians and correspondents. If you've nothing to actually report on, talk about something else until you do. And the way the presenters try and put words in people's mouths and twist what they're saying is infuriating.

Yeah but there was that one time that James Naughtie called Jeremy Hunt "Jeremy banana split" so it's not all bad.

My Mum in passing happened to mention she was going to fill out some email she'd received from Sainsbury's to win £150 store vouchers. I asked her to show it to me and it turned out to be fake. Older people and the internet, you've got to be so careful! Used to be Paypal was a common one, and now these scam artists are spoofing everything. The url or email address nearly always gives it away, but apart from that they look legit. And before you know it you've given someone your address, nectar card and phone number.

I remember when we used to get loads of phone calls about insuring our Sky dish and they'd use language to make you think they were from Sky or Legal and General.

Arseholes.

You do realise there are other radio stations you can listen to instead right?

What about “Radio 4” makes you think there are other stations? ;)

When I am driving I tend to either constantly flick through radio stations (to avoid adverts or presenters talking) or just stick on Spotify or a podcast.

Adverts for Grammarly. Firstly it seems like a pointless bit of software - my web browser and any other bits of software where I do significant amounts of typing already include spell checkers and whatnot, but my main issue is that I seem to be getting bombarded with adverts for it!

I've been listening to a playlist on YouTube for most of the day (Xenoblade Chonicles 2 OST :datass: ) and it seems that between pretty much every song I get the same strawberry floating advert for Grammarly! :x
