The senior boss called me young man the other day. I found it weirdly funny, because I don't look young at all. I'm turning into a prune more and more.

Also hate OTT sales guys. One day they’ll realise that for every person they can swindle into buying gooseberry fool there’s another person been talked out of the shop cuz we can’t browse in peace.

When I was in Seoul there was a skincare shop (Innisfree, wonderful stuff) and they have colour coded baskets to differentiate between wanting help and wanting left alone. Great idea, especially in Korea where it’s normal to be followed round the shop at arms length by pushy sales staff.

This is an exaggeration. Only half of the adverts on TV are for funeral plans, the other half are for gifting money to charity in your will.

Martin Lewis and those companies that offer to claim tax refunds on your behalf. As a contact centre adviser in taxes Mr Lewis and said companies are the bane of my life.

That's amazing.

I got a mixture of totally silent and quite keen independent market sellers in Japan who obviously want and need to make the best of tourism. The one I remember the most was trying to sell me beauty papers for my girlfriend. I was single at the time :lol:

to be fair I did get a kiss on the cheek for some things I brought back, so they weren't exactly wrong. Plus their skin is strawberry floating amazing so genes aside there is something about it.

The worst "bothering" experience I got was in Elphicks. I had a black eye from being jumped the previous evening, so they were looking at me really dodgy. I was just browsing for some socks and maybe a scarf, and they were constantly glaring at me around the corner and asking if I needed anything. what exactly would I "need"? I don't need assistance choosing entirely aesthetic items I can see with my own eyes. Yes I like to feel if things are soft and comfortable. Yes I am choosy, just strawberry float off instead of disturbing my choosing method of choice.. Urgh. My condition at the time wasn't it either, every time I went there you would get the same following around generally because you don't fit the demographic. I prefer to buy less of better quality things, even when I have very little money, so I have to be confident in what I am buying.

Yep, and my elderly mother is bombarded with them constantly which i'm sure makes her feel fantastic.

I obliterated some of my gum under a canine after brushing too hard with a stiff brush and it's never grown back. I switched to the softest bristle brush I could get and never had the problem again.

So yes, in some cases brushing your teeth is actually increasing the chance of gum disease and decay by forcibly removing them. But nobody tells you that.

(Seriously most toothbrushes are way too stiff, brush slower for longer not harder.)

Does everyone here watch nothing but Challenge TV (like me), or are these adverts the only thing showing on any channel now? :slol:

Well they do toothbrushes, but chances are if they do one of the two they'll have made the other as well. Which is why that advert is so cringe for me. "You didn't know OralB - who are a well known company for dentistry products - make toothpaste? That makes absolutely no sense!" I could understand if it was some company that aren't a major player of dentistry products, but... just... OralB? That's the same thing as saying "Specsavers do glasses?" IT'S IN THE NAME!
