That shoplifting thing went away pretty quickly for Ross too....

SSE sending me a letter this morning saying my gas and electric bill will likely go up by roughly £158 a year.

And here was me thinking that by cancelling Sky TV I'd saved myself £133, when all that's happened is another year of the more-for-less Merry Go Round.

Having just moved house to somewhere both older and bigger than where we were before I had already expected my bills to be going up a fair amount, now I'm going to have to deal with the double whammy of that and the price hikes. :dread:

Life, nothing but bills (i.e. thin air).

My home/life insurance went down.

I was thinking 'that's nice a few extra quid'. But NAHHHHH. Mortgage, car insurance and internet went up. Cancels any gains.

Sky's new "Message Us" system (which looks like iMessage/Facebook Messenger) is rather rubbish, isn't it? Whereas before a Live Chat conversation was over within half hour, now you can spread it out throughout the course of an entire day!

I've literally been messaging back and forth between this bloke from Sky since 11am.

What's 'hilarious' is if you wish to upgrade your package (or join Sky) Live Chat is of course still available, with nigh on immediate service.

I feel like I'm in a Jack Dee/Martin Clunes middle aged man suburban sitcom.

After 5+ hours Sky think it's appropriate to ask, before solving the issue at hand...

I'm confused - if you weren't using Live Chat then in what way were you "chatting" to them? Phone?

I've never had to deal with Sky, but must admit I have been liking the move toward live chat style options that has come in for most services recently. Until they tell you that the thing you want to do can only be done by speaking to someone in the call centre!

They've implemented a new text messaging system that looks like iMessage or whatever on your phone. So you send them a message and they'll reply back anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes later, in the same conversational manner as the Live Chat (Live Chat is only now for certain scenarios, like upgrading).
