What’s really funny is that she is only giving up Domino’s pizza delivery. If she goes to a restaurant or picks up the pizza from the shop then it is fine.

“Ohhh I could really eat some of that chocolate, all I have is a slice of Victoria Sponge I bought from Tesco this morning”

I bet she actually said Tescos

My Nan still calls it "J Sainsbury's"

My mum still calls the Sainsburys Local shops "Bells" since that's what they were before Sainsburys bought them.

The sainsburys by me still gets called SavaCentre

There’s a Nisa shop near my grandmothers house. She and my mum both call it the Co-Op which it was in the 70s/80s, whereas I call it Londis which it was in the 90s/early 00s. My (much younger) cousin calls it Nisa. We all know exactly what we mean though.

WhSmith took over the John Menzies chain in the 90's I believe, but I still refer to my local one as Menzies.

I did the same with Leo's which became CO-OP and now Morrisons. I have started calling it Morrisons, but for a good while it was still Leo's.

Same, my girlfriend's parents still call their local shop "Gammon's" after the previous owner, despite the fact it was bought by Nisa about ten years ago.
