There's an option in the accounts section of Netflix to allow you to remove stuff from your watched list though it is hidden away a bit.

I’ve done that before but it’s beyond me why it doesn’t just have the option on the app itself. I can add and remove things from the watchlist easily, why make people strawberry float around on the website?

Yeah, me too. But it sucks that to browse the web conveniently, anonymously, and safely now takes so much more kit than the average person - or tech-savvy people! - have or even know about.

You've got your security plugins like HTTPS Everywhere, you want to use something like uMatrix to manage the scripts a site is running, ideally yeah you want a Pi-hole for sure to blackhole all those ads and trackers, you probably also want that Pi to connect your whole network to a VPN. Then there are gotchas like making sure your browser isn't cloud-saving your history, possibly installing an extension to randomise your user-agent, that kind of thing. Even I only do roughly half of all that.

That stuff used to be what you'd do if you were a whistle-blower, a hacker, buying drugs, whatever; like you had a potential targeted threat you were hiding from. But nowadays it's really just the minimum to stop nightmare corporations and institutionally corrupt secret services tracking literally everything you do. Scary world we live in.

When you search for something on Google, it's annoying how the order of the images/maps/videos options changes depending on what you're searching for.
I can kinda see why they do it, but it's so much better to just keep the layout the same. Feels like yet more change for the sake of change.

Also Netflix changing its layout so it's more difficult to find stuff. Pisses me off.

Netflix layout can be annoying but I find it about a million times better than Prime Video.

I've had Prime for about three years and watched barely a thing on there - it is impossible to locate stuff, does a gooseberry fool job of recommending anything and half of the time it is highlighting stuff that you have to pay extra for anyway! :x

Prime Video is designed around people searching for specific things only to find it's not included in Prime and is something you have to purchase, and by that point you really want to watch it so you just bite the bullet and pay the money.

The only things that they make front and centre is their original content, everything else is just a complete hodge podge.
It would be way better if they had a separate app that included nothing but Included with Prime content.

Yeah prime video is appalling. Can't find anything you want, and then when you do find something it's usually payable. The player itself is dogshit too.

I found this out when searching for 4K material via the TV app, it was hopeless. When you searched for something in 4K (say Blue Planet 2) it didn't show up, therefore making you believe they don't offer it. Continually scroll down the main menu screen however and a line dedicated to 4K programming shows up. So poor.

The only way to really 'browse' Prime Video is to use a desktop web browser in the Prime Video section of the site where there's actually a check box for Included in Prime so you only see non-payable stuff. And that actually let's you browse by genre.

Of course that means you need an additional device to actually browse with then your TV to search and watch on.

The PS4 app used to have an option to only show stuff included with Prime, but they removed it a while ago.

It really is an appalling service. I only use it if I actually know there is something there I want to watch that is included, such as the recent Good Omens.

I went to watch John Wick 1+2 on Prime the other day, but only 2 was included in my prime sub, with the first one being on pay per view. The whole app is geared around pretty much tricking you into overspending.

Rather like the checkout page on Amazon itself, particularly on Post and Packaging charges. It defaults to just shy of a fiver, but in the not-entirely-obvious menus, it can be changed to Free and a discount is then applied. The discount should really be applied automatically when you surpass £20.

I've had prime for years so not noticed that. Instead with prime they default to one day when same day is available (both free).

I found the video part of their site to be completely confusing. It is not laid out well at all.

They don't even seem to have a proper video site in the same way that Amazon do, half of the time it just looks like browsing Amazon for buying regular stuff!

I used to use the "Included with Prime" button but that doesn't seem to work universally - if you then search or go to a specific category it shows you all the paid for stuff again!

My Spotify app updated today and now everything is in the wrong place. My saved songs are now a playlist, which is admittedly not much different, but the Artists and Albums tabs have been completely strawberry floating ruined.

Artists are sorted alphabetically, but only if you're actually following them. If you're not following an artist- and why would you if you only have like 2 of their songs- we're just gonna stick 'em under 'recommended artists' in whatever order we damn well strawberry floating please. Good luck finding them, fucko.

And don't even get me started on albums. Wanna find a specific album? Cool, no worries, did you save the album? No? Just one song off it? strawberry float You, I'm not showing you gooseberry fool.

I know. But that’s not an easy way to remove something when I am watching via the PS4 app. My gripe is that it should be easy to do via the app, I shouldn’t have to piss around with websites.
