Sounds like it would be quite the quest.

Finally got an update from them. It's coming tonight. The depot is 5 minutes away so I guess they've put me at the very end of their delivery shift or something.

I did this a few years ago, having historically had very healthy teeth.

Dentist said they were fine but not to leave it so long next time.

I'm 30 years old and I last went to the Dentist when I was about 8. I'm strawberry floating petrified of going which paired with my anxiety has basically made it impossible to force myself to go. My teeth are in a state as well.

The Teams gooseberry fool pisses me off as well. I only have to look away from my screen and the damn thing sets me to Away.
And then when I start moving the cursor again or typing, it doesn't change the status back (at least on the tray icon - I don't know how it looks to other users) and I have to go through the hassle of opening Teams, and then it updates my status. That happens about a dozen times a day. Such a pain in the arse. How about you just leave my status on what I set it as, FFS. :fp:

Is there not a control setting which allows you to choose an arbitrary period of time before it changes your status?

There used to be on Skype but not Teams. I've checked. :slol:

If it doesn't, I'll probably wait a couple of minutes until I've finished what I was doing, then respond.

Our work laptops lock and show you as idle/away if you've been inactive for 5 minutes, so as long as someone is showing as available, they're probably there.

Oh I'm somehow not on the free dental coverage offered by work. Fantastic, great stuff.

Thanks for that. Doubt I'll be able to get it running on my work laptop though, as I can't even update Adobe reader without admin privileges. :fp:

I hadn't been in years and years before yesterday and I think there's been a push to make dentists less frightening to the general public. They were constantly asking if I was afraid of anything or heard bad stories about dentists.

Did you have a bad experience as a kid?

It was long enough ago that I can't remember it, but I do know my parents never pushed me to go either but then as I noticed my teeth getting more and more chipped and years went on the thought of going got worse and worse because I know going is either going to leave me with a huge bill I can't afford or is going to leave me hearing things are much worse than I think they already are.

A fair bit of dental costs can still be covered on the NHS I think, it's just that no dentist ever seems to take on new NHS patients.

It doesn't install, it just runs a plain exe, and spoofs pressing the scroll lock key every minute or so.

Teams shouldn't need you to re-open it in order for it to update the status back from being away. I always have it minimised or in the tray and have never had that problem.

I had my first dental appointment for over 20 years last year and the dentist said they were essentially fine so I think that is a bit thumb up for the "no dentists required" approach to oral hygiene! :toot:

I do suspect that if I leave it another 20 years before going back that I will have no teeth left though! :slol:

I do my own dentistry up to a point for the following reason:

I had almost 10 solid years of orthodontic treatment, sometimes requiring a trip a week to Musgrove hospital (ask moggy) to have something else done to my teeth. Teeth rearranged, some permanently wired together (I still have wire on the back of two holding them in a pair), elastic bands pulling some down, top and bottom train track ones, a thing that plugged in to my back teeth at night, held with a strong elastic strap, to pull them to the back of my head. 10 years of that gooseberry fool. At some point during that, I had teeth 5 pulled out (in a small wedmore dentist where famous paedo Gary Glitter lived at the time) at once, and the local anesthetic didnt work so i felt every sensation as teeth were twisted and ripped out of my jaw with pliers. My mum said the screams cleared the entire waiting room downstairs

After all that was done, I still had to wear a retainer for a year, which was strawberry floating gooseberry fool too. Subsequent dental visits were scrape a bit of plaque off if needed and get patronized by a hygienist who would say to brush my teeth in a circular motion every single time.

Now I do the plaque stuff etc myself with tools I've bought for the job.
