Looking at the TSB website there's no mention of paying in slips, and looking at the Post office TSB website it states you need to get the slip from TSB, which goes back to the issue of not being able to get a slip because the bank is closed at weekends.

Looking around on the TSB website it looks like I might need to order a paying in book....I think?

I have a Revolut account that I got for spending while abroad, but they don't accept cheque deposits at all via any method.

Sign up for an account with Starling or Monzo it's fast you then pay the cheque in and trash the account. Extreme but would work.

Might be worth doing and even keeping it for a while. When I order things online or do shopping for my mum she repays me by cheque so having a way to deposit them via app would be useful for the foreseeable future.

I don’t receive many cheques any more (even less now Premium Bonds and YouGov have dumped them, or are about to) but when I do I just send it to FREEPOST, MONZO. They do take between 2-3 weeks to clear though, including postage times.

Are they still doing by post ? Starling are in app now up to a few hundred pound and is next working day to clear I think.

Post only with Monzo, either via freepost or if the cheque is more valuable, PO Box.

Maybe I'll just go to the bank on my lunch hour on Monday.

When games, particularly Japanese games and JRPGs, don't let you save your game for hours. I'm an hour late back to work because Persona 5 just threw me into several difficult and long boss fights one after another with absolutely zero warning.

And of course, after each fight, the heroes want to go on and on talking gooseberry fool and I end up getting pissed off and annoyed by something I otherwise would've been enjoying.

It even got to a point where I reached a save room, tried to go in, and it wouldn't open. One of the characters then piped up with "we don't have time to go in there! We have to keep pushing forward!"

strawberry float OFF!!!!

I hate this sort of thing, I tend to play in short bursts so not being able to save whenever I want causes me loads of issues and I just wont play the game. I tend to start play for 15 or 20 minutes then stop and come back a little later.

That is annoying, but doesn't the prevalence of suspend/restore functionality make it less of any issue these days? Just put the game to sleep and come back to it later.

I would've done if I was the only one using the console but my wife is playing Valhalla while I'm working so it wasn't an option :(

And I didn't want to have to replay the previous hour. "It'll just be 5 more minutes, I'm sure" I kept telling myself.

Star Ocean (PSP version) was terrible with that, at one point there was a three hour gap between save points and I kept having to redo the entire section as I was in bed with the Flu at the time and had to keep putting the PSP into sleep mode whenever I needed a break and it'd often just run out of battery power and switch off.
