Buying stuff can be equally infuriating. Facebook marketplace can get some good bargains, but you have to wade through the following:
1) Someone selling something for an absolute strawberry floating steal, great condition but "WILL NOT POST, COLLECTION ONLY" and is located in the arse end of nowhere at the other end of the country, and despite offering to cover PayPal fees (which you technically shouldn't do) and pay for fully tracked DHL who even come to your strawberry floating house to collect it, still won't.
1a) people who insist on PayPal friends and family, which gives you zero buyer protection and 95% of all scam stories start with doing this. The fees for a domestic transaction are 2.9% of the item value + 30p. Hardly a king's ransom.
2) Item listed as free with "PM for prices" or "open to offers" in the listing. This normally translates as "will only accept ludicrous highball amounts and will be an absolute gooseberry fool every step of the way.
2.a) as above, but puts one price and then adds "pm for prices" in the listing. If only there was space to list the strawberry floating price somewhere, like in the description. Its not the late 1990s, you can use more than 128 characters.
