There was one on my bus into work this week. Was strawberry floating huge. The lady it was flapping behind lost her gooseberry fool, ran down to sit at the bottom of the bus

To be fair that would pretty much have been my response as well. :slol:

I don't know what it is specifically about moths but they are the one thing (that we get in this country at least) which sets me off - ants, spiders, bees, wasps and the like I can deal with easily enough, but moths just flick some switch in my head for some reason!

I'm guessing the nationwide adverts are localised, unless you guys keep getting one with the brummie bloke too. I'm a brummie and his accent makes me cringe every time.

The last one I saw was a guy with a really weird accent talking about Birmingham, probably the same one.

Also - there's an advert for KFC (I think? Some fast food chain, anyway) where the voiceover is this horrible Londonish accent, the women says "only fifdeen nighty nye". Might as well have added "ya get me fam" at the end. Dreadful :dread:

That to imbed things from other places on this forum (tweets, instagram, soundcloud, dailymotion etc) is such a pain in the arse. Other places: just use the web address for, say, Instagram. Here? DOESN'T WORK.

Tweets are incredibly easy to embed unless you're Hexx.

I think I've somehow blocked Twitter as I can never see embedded tweets.

Not sure if I've posted it here before but either way - people who can't use self service tills properly. Either learn to use them or get the strawberry float out of the way! You are taking something that should allow those of us who are competent to shop more efficiently and turning it into massive bottleneck!

To be fair the self-service machines do sometimes just freak the hell out for no reason.

The other week, I ended up finding a couple who not only decided to take an massive trolley full of about 3 months worth of shopping through the self-service till, but also had no strawberry floating clue on how to use the bastard thing.

Absolutely the machines can be gooseberry fool but people should have learned some basic skills to mitigate some of this - moving stuff relatively swiftly onto the scales, not shuffling things around too much once it's on there etc.

Tonight was just a cavalcade of disasters - people not knowing how today start, putting things straight onto the floor and not on the scales, not understanding how to pay once they're finished... It's a miracle everyone got out alive really!

I think there should be a test that people need to pass before they have the privilege of using self-service! Either that or you get a penalty for being slow - more than X seconds per item and you incur an additional charge on your shopping. That would filter out the slow ones!

The thing that really winds me up about self service machines though is the way they've updated the software on them without updating the hardware so they're now super strawberry floating slow.

The scales don’t work properly with rucksacks (which is now how a lot of people shop). So people say they’ve brought their own bags and put their rucksack onto the scales and the machine software can’t cope. You need to say you’ve brought no bags and put it on the floor.

Loyalty cards also cause issues. Some need to be swiped beside the card reader, others put over the front facing scanner, others onto the base scanner.

Different shops, different software. Needs to be made universal with just different branding overlayed.

That is annoying - there's one in a Sainsbury's near me that is now so slow it's incapable of playing it's audio back at full speed. :lol:
