Teams is alright, but when we used it as a chat program at work (which is all we used it for) we found the notifications to be really gooseberry fool. Sometimes it just doesn't tell you if someones messaged you.

Slack is a much better chat tool.

345 5 star reviews, wow, must be good! Let's read them.

The first 2 pages are all saying "I've not worn it yet, but it looks nice 5 STARS"

mixed with people just using it as a stealth brag about where they're going "I've not used it yet, but will be taking it on my 2 week trip to see the northern lights, staying in el grande lodge"

It's a coat not a laptop (unless the laptop is a Mac HURRDURR). You buy it, try it on, and if it isn't right for you then you return it.

Re: Teams - I'm in a good mood with Teams at the moment because I'm doing a job application and it's allowed me to describe plugging a laptop into a telly as "providing ad hoc IT support to help create a secondary socially distanced meeting room."

It's as expensive as a laptop, and there's more to it than the fit. How does this membrane hold up over this one? Is feature X worth a £100 bump in price over feature X on a different one.

Someone's doing well

Or buys extremely cheap laptops

Stick a few cheap laptops in the pockets of a cheap coat and you've got a futuristic coat that heats you up for the price of an expensive coat.

When they do application upgrades in work and it doesn't work for you, and has completely borked access to other applications in the process. And your boss is nowhere to be seen, so you can't get it sorted. For the past few days. Despite him being put down as present. And he sits directly behind you so you know he's strawberry floating about.

Jesus, this week has been a pile of strawberry floating shite overall.

The charging case for my wireless earbuds has just dropped in half, the lid has completely snapped off the hinges.

Curry's. :x

Ordered a new cooker at the start of August, and booked delivery/installation for today. Had a call and email from them the day after I ordered to confirm they'd received it, and they'd be in touch if there were any issues. Didn't hear anything so assumed all was going to plan, but didn't get the usual day before text to confirm a delivery time. Rang them this morning, and apparently 14th September delivery slot was actually for the delivery from the supplier onto them (?) and the earliest they can deliver to me is the 24th.

Apparently there were notes against the order saying I'd been called twice to confirm the delay, but I've not spoken to anyone there since the 7th August. I managed to bring the delivery forward to this Thursday by cancelling the installation, (how hard can it be to wire in a cooker? :shifty: ) but that's still another 3 days I now have to go through with just a toaster and a microwave.

On topic - we moved into a new office recently and the taps in the toilet sinks are really strawberry floating annoying me.

For a start they aren't mixers which is a classic problem. Whoever decided that people wanted individuals hot and cold taps needs to be identified so that when time travel is invented we can go back and strawberry floating deal with them once and for all.

But on top of that they have that shitty problem where turning them doesn't achieve anything but a dribble of water. So you turn them a tiny bit more and yet nothing happens. So then you give them tiniest of extra twists, the most delicate of rotational manoeuvres such as an expert safe cracker might employ when rotating the dial on a premium bank vault ... and suddenly a tidal wave gushes forth of equivalent ferocity to a Tibetan monk having a first wank after a 30 years masturbation self denial! :x

Two taps isn't that bad, but it's still an inferior setup in virtually every situation!

The hot tap in these sinks at work is also one of those that releases ridiculously, scorching hot water. I've not measured it but this gooseberry fool must be pretty damned close to hitting the boiling point!

We use the water from the hot tap to save wear and tear on the cold tap

To do with the plumbing system isn't it? Hot and water coming from different sources, with the cold being drinkable and the hot not.

I think mixer taps are better, but the way people talk about hot/cold taps is insane. Just wash your hands with the cold tap you wimps.

Ah, the "pissed yourself, then?" Taps.

Exactly! It's funny the first time someone comes out with it but after a while quickly grows tedious.

And obviously yes I have pissed myself as well but lets not allow that to detract from the tap problem! ;)

"Have you pissed yourself?"

"No! It was the tap!"

Or put the plug in, fill the sink with both taps and properly wash your hands.
