[Rules p.1] Things that annoy you guys. 100 percent. Not gonna lie

I think I am about to stop being annoyed.

The sewage pipe replacement in my road is nearing completion; nine months of noise and disturbance is coming to a close. The work people have finished the digging and there is just some tarmac to do now.

But... it's not yet finished and the work people seem to have just left. The traffic lights are still up. Nothing can go wrong now, can it?

Yeah I think this is the key - there are still good communities out there on Reddit but you just need to know where to find them.

There are a few subreddits that I check on and off and usually offer me something of interest, r/reddwarf for instance is nice to just check every now and then to have a chat with some fellow Dwarf fans. Outside of the odd dip into a "so what is it?" quote chain on here is one of the few places I've found to share things with fans of the show.

I do agree that the general site design is atrocious though. :dread:

The site design on a web browser really is a mess :lol:

it is much better in the mobile app.

But yeah, your Reddit experience will vary heavily by which subreddits you visit.

Echo Drumstick on soccer, NintendoSwitch and for me, the SCFC subreddit.

I also like UkPolitics but that is probably helped by the fact it leans left of the Tories, with majority of people hating them and Brexit.

FantasyPL is good for latest FF insight, even if some of them get crazy. I've seen people analyse a pregnant wag's bump on social media posts to try and predict a due date and predict when a player may miss a game to attend the birth....

I've heard r/NSFW is a good one... :shifty:

I've got upcoming works coming up a little bit down the road from me and I'm worried about how noisy it's going to be. :dread:

I think if you combined my entire life usage of reddit it wouldn't even hit an hour. I've somehow managed to almost completely avoid it. Probably because the initial reaction has always been 'I can't bloody navigate this!' and that was the end of it.

The work should be finishing today but I just looked out and no work people are there. Mysterious.

I go on r/casualuk from time to time, seems quite quiet, someone's stalking a hedgehog in their garden on there xD

Mine is they're knocking down the old police station that caught fire a few months back and building flats on top of it. I assume there'll be a large amount of noise on the demolition day, but hopefully the noise of building won't be too loud.

I lived above them building a college directly underneath me for the first 5 months of living here and it was hell. Constantly drilling all day every day.

Well, I did that (for research purposes, of course), and found myself on r/CelebrityCandids. A second randnsfw landed me on everything you need to know about performance enhancing compounds. That really is random.

I still use the old Reddit layout when I do go on site. It's still not good, but it's miles better than the atrocity they replaced it with. :dread:

There are a couple of good sports subreddits I use, some good news ones, and some more niche ones that are hobby-related. r/CasualUK is alright, but a bit weird...it's like they're overly concerned with a few tropes about being British, and constantly reference those. r/unitedkingdom is awful, it's like the politics thread on here, but even worse. I find r/ukpolitics slightly more bearable, but I use it more as an aggregator of articles or topics (and that's the best thing about Reddit I think when it comes to news/sport).

Anyway, pissing it down with rain here, dark and dull, blowing a gale - so of course it's time for my neighbour to get the leafblower out. DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. :fp:

CasualUK is alright, but everything political is banned and since most of life is strawberry floated by politics right now it's mainly the same things posted in a loop essentially.

It's now official - I am not annoyed.

The road (sewer) works have completed today; the fencing has been taken down, the tarmac done, the traffic lights removed, no cars are tooting, no motorbikes are revving up and there is no longer a need for noisy sewage clearing at all hours of the day and night. After ten months, it's over.

I might have to go and post in the "smile" thread.
