People saying "stay safe" because of this pandemic is getting annoying now. Just seems such a pointless thing to say.

Is that really the only thing about the pandemic you find annoying?

Right now i have nothing but utter hatred for the lockdowns, masks, those distancing stickers/signs you see everywhere, queuing outside the few shops which are open, the endless bloody poetry, and those smug bastards who seem to have enjoyed the whole rotten experience.

Speaking of queuing up for shops, it seems completely random for when they enforce it. You would have thought that Saturday - one of the busiest days for shoppers - would have seen such in place, yet no-one was checking people outside Sainsburys when I went in last week. A few days later, though, there's a person in the hi-vis jacket and a queue of about two people waiting outside as I passed (from a distance).

I'm guilty of ending emails Many Thanks now and then. Also use Cheers quite a bit on short messages within our team. Oh well.

Someone I work with just ends their messages with ty. Not keen on that.

When you do the shop half asleep and buy the completely wrong thing.

I bought Bran Flakes. Or at least, I thought I bought Bran Flakes. Special K is now in a blue box for some reason. So I have a box of Special K.

And it is rank.

I use many thanks with suppliers I have an existing relationship with, and in correspondence with customers, or if I am making a request, because why not thank someone for reading your email nevermind acting upon it? Don't see the harm in that. After all, I'm often asking people for their support and their money. I suppose it's the equivalent of French "thank you very much" or "thanks muchly". I also write really long emails so it's literally an effort just to open and read them. I guess that speaks a lot of our culture these days.

In comparison I find "thanks" or "regards" a bit brief, like the word was just thrown in there but doesn't really mean anything.

In person, when I say thank you, I mean so sincerely.

Otherwise it's best wishes or kind regards. Sometimes I'll write sincerely if it's really official, a complaint or I'm pissed off about something. The one I use least is love, because that's basically reserved for my girlfriend and maybe my mother and that's about it.

"regards" all in in lower case followed by someone's name pisses me off, as if it isn't the start of a sentence, which it is.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

In general I think people read to much into how others are signing off an email. I couldn't give a shot what someone puts really, the body of the email will tell me way more about them than which remark they use to close it

True.

I only feel that if someone is going to put something at the end of every email they write out of a company for example, they should use adequate punctuation :toot:

Corporate April Fools Jokes :fp:

I've seen a fair few that aren't even ridiculous news stories, they're just going to get people's hopes up over something they like, such as videogame reveals, a fan favourite coach signing a new deal :fp:

It's even worse when you get home to find your box of tea bags are decaf.

I don't have caffeine after mid-afternoon, so I have to resort to decaf tea after that. I find Tetley's are the best for decaf.

Not the same, but it's still a million times better than decaf coffee.

I don't drink tea or coffee.

I really don't get the love for either. Maybe I'll understand this at some point.
