The argument making a case for these plastic notes was that it'd stop people from losing money being thrown in the wash. Well how much money has been lost due to double paying since the introduction of gooseberry fool toy money? (You know, because the notes stick together.)

I did discover one great thing, they actually strawberry floating work in cash guzzlers i.e. ticket machines.

I think the solution is to stop shopping at Asda and start shopping at Waitrose

A higher quality of note care from a higher quality of people

 :!: They were indeed Asda notes! But I suspect, that, much like how my experience of Yodel > GR's experience of Yodel, my local Asda isn't a complete heap and is frequented by normal, reasonable types who know how to treat money that folds. Also I got similarly shitty notes when I went to Marks and Spencer a couple of weeks ago.

One of my neighbours is doing some kind of DIY that involves machinery making a strawberry floating boatload of noise. Normally this doesn't bother me because I'd like others to be patient if I wanted to do similar work, but I've been vomiting most of the day and have a massive headache that will simply not budge. Urgh.

Do you know why you're vomiting and having bad headaches? (Flu? Hangover? Do you get migraines?) If there's no obvious explanation I'd consider getting it checked out. Either way, hope you feel better soon! :)

I do suffer with migraines sometimes but this headache is probably sleep deprivation related because I've been routinely getting about 3 hours a night since mid-November (as I've been watching The Ashes).

Vomiting, for me personally, is a very common side-effect of headaches. If painkillers don't work, I begin to feel like one would when actually hungover (i.e. shaking, can't face eating). Which usually ends in vomiting. All of the symptoms and none of the alcohol. :fp:

I had the misfortune of getting a bad migraine on new years eve, it started about half past ten and an hour later I had to go to bed as it was so bad.

The first new years eve in probably 25 years where I've been asleep before midnight.

Can't remember the last time I stayed up for new years.

Having a cough. BS cough mixture that simply doesn't work - I've never tried one that does.

Cough mixtures are about as effective as a spoonful of honey and/or a warm drink.

My doctor many years ago said they were a complete waste of money, and there have been various documentaries on TV over the years saying the exact same thing since.

It's probably a circular saw or a palm router.

He finally gave up shortly after 6pm but I'm sure he'll be back on it tomorrow.

My headache, after a short nap, had thankfully subsided by then.

Glad it has stopped now, Drummy (the noise and the migraine!).

Having a bit of a noise bust-up with the neighbours at the mo. They've been playing their music at a loud volume for around two hours now, and I've been playing my TV at a loud volume in return.

I didn't want it to get to this stage as I can't make complaints about noise if I'm doing it back. But I think it's the only kind of behaviour that they'll understand. It doesn't exactly make for a relaxing evening, though :| .

He is not the kind of guy that you can speak to. He'd escalate things to shouting and violence within moments. I (and other residents) have had the flat managment committee write to them about noise issues, though. Trouble is, they're the kind of people who do not give a gooseberry fool about anybody else.

But the good news is that the music has stopped. I hope that is it for tonight!

If I'm not actually sleeping by the bells, then I pretend that I am, in order to avoid all the faux bonhomme.
