Changing the lyrics of songs always makes me smile.

Today's example from the car was a switcheroo on that annoying Rhianna track "We Found Love":

I found love in your gormless face.

I've only just discovered the Chill digital radio station. It's just what I need sometimes... just so relaxing. I like it :-) .

I got a digital radio for my birthday. It’s brilliant. One minute you’ve got some pure concerto ballad, then you can flip to some jazz, old school Craig David and some 60s rock. There’s even a Christmas music station

Gareth Thomas, the former Wales rugby player, was attacked by a 16 year-old kid whilst on a night out because the boy allegedly disliked his sexuality. Gotta have huge admiration for Thomas in holding back and not demolishing the kid; he probably deserved it but Thomas asked the police to deal with the incident through "restorative justice". I didn't know what this was but, upon looking into it, "Restorative justice enables victims to meet or communicate with their offender to explain the real impact of the crime.".

Thomas' ability to hold off and try and change the boy's thinking away from ignorant thuggery is inspiring. Well played, Gareth!

That's quite scarily close to home. Good on Thomas for trying to make it into something positive, and I'm glad he found so many people to help him, but it's still pretty frightening that that would happen to a guy like him so locally.

This made me smile today, partly because I was so sure I'd miss it.

My boy makes me laugh and smile all the time as well.

Simple things like when I put him to bed he will say “night night daddy, love you” make me smile, funny things like when I put him to bed he’ll sometimes say “night night, love you MUMMY” so that she can hear from the other room.

He made me roar with laughter on Monday when I was driving, I started singing along to a song that came on the radio and he said “don’t sing daddy!” and covered up his ears. I waited until he uncovered them and then cranked up the radio and sang louder, which made him laugh and then he put his fingers on his lips and said “SHUSH!”.

If we lived closer we could totally playdate. I reckon they'd get on well.

Wait until they get to 13 and storm off to their bedroom whilst screaming about how much they hate you. That makes me smile as well as it's absolutely hilarious.

They’d get on well but only because they would be mocking us and plotting against us. :x

I remember doing it so it will be interesting to see what it’s like from the other side.

The end of this annoys me.

If they want to know what's inside to know what to do with them then just open them and rewrap them! It's like there's something sacred about it being wrapped.

Man, this is just so unexpected and ace! The really nce bit is that Grum has obvs done some digging* in past months and he knew that I really liked that particular mug and those two Who magnets - all designed by GR's The Watching Artist - and now I'm sitting here smiling and just saying "wow!". Thanks very much, Grum!

I got complimented by three members of the public for doing a good job (one whose holiday I helped plan, one I helped format his CV and the other for tracing a book they'd read as a child). I may moan about work but I really try my hardest when I'm there. I'm just always doubtful that it comes across that way or that I've done enough. It's nice to actually have someone say that I've done a good job and they've appreciated my help. One even took that time to fill out a comments form about how grateful he was for my help.
