strawberry float this pseudo-technocratic, speculative dystopia of infinitely monetised and tokenistic, vapid bullshit that would ruin the Internet.

I draw a line between here and blooming cryptofascists/shills that might appear. That line will exist in perpetuity as long as GRcade has and will.

I hereby formally declare NFTs enemy of the state.

Please openly discuss how strawberry floating stupid this idea is, if you don't want to do that, strawberry float off.

Yours,

A real, not cryptographic artist who doesn't see strawberry floating over people - and everything digital culture has built - as a potential mark to feed my ego, gamble with and destroy the planet

PS if you're a cryptobro, you're a silly banana split and should go back to your FUD-free safe space on Discord. Stay salty

Do you think this will last longer than the average fad, then?

Possibly, yes.

Edit: also even if it is a fad and the world collectively realises how bad an idea it is it's still already amounted enough victims (especially artists).

So just as I explicitly block any kind of gambling related advertisements on GRcade and ignore every bullshit casino-oriented link insertion harassment, and refuse to monetise pages with per-user, tracked, AI-generative algorithms (something pitched to me literally yesterday), gotta do at least something to raise awareness ahead of the curve of this absolute shitshow of a platform for what is now the thing we're existing on (where it will cost money vast speculative bubbles of pure bullshit, financed by victims of fraud, merely to exist on - if this catches on). Hopefully it doesn't!

This would be a bad time for me to start shilling my blockchain-supported sexy religious iconography, Nun-F**kable Tokens, then.

AYA Crypto Bro?

Alt account game where everyone has an awful procedurally generated avatar and you have to cast your vote on the blockchain

Someone actually went and made that basically, it's AYA running on the blockchain. But they strawberry floated the whole thing up and broke the game by issuing tokens that had bugs in their code that contributed to the overall game (not) working. It's hilarious, and is mentioned in the documentary. Imagine running a basic game like AYA that can work on any kind of forum or social media but instead spending and burning up ethereum to do the same thing, exclusively for cryptobros. Imagine that.

Only someone actually went and did it to try and justify the existence of this so far pointless application of technology. Amazing.

Do you hate Lootboxes? Do you hate NFT's?

Good news!
Atari are planning on releasing NFT Lootboxes for their 50th Anniversary
According to the roadmap on the collection website, the GFTs will unwrap on a specific date where users will find out if theirs is "common", "rare", or "epic". As more GFTs are bought, access to more is granted, on top of game competitions and leaderboards as the "metaverse" grows.

The Atari GFT Commemorative Collection will be available from 1st February. But Republic Realm isn't stopping there: the Atari collection is just the first project based on a beloved brand to feature in its GFT Shoppe, a "metaverse-based e-commerce platform and retail store".
