Hopefully now the game will get the user base it deserves.

Titanfall was okay in short bursts, but nothing to write home about. Don't think it deserves a sequel.

Eh, I felt I got my fill of the first game in the beta. Not sure if I'll bother with the sequel.

Agreed. The user base last year on playstation could have been big because how poor the other shooters were. BF4 had issues, Ghosts sucked and less said about Killzone the better.

I don't regret the £15 I paid for it via Origin and from time to time will fire it up for a quick blast, but on the whole it's rather unremarkable and as I say not worthy of a sequel.

Wonder if this will be an actual completed game and not the patched up rush job the first was because EA was on the verge of canning it, until microsoft came in with a buttload of money for exclusivity.

It was the best online FPS I'd played in years. Tons of potential for future games in the series.

I disagree. I still play UT 2003 & 2004 and both are far better online shooters. Even the pre-alpa for the new UT is better. Titanfall is clunky and clumsy by comparison.

Holy Moly, Photek am cry. ;)

IGN UK wrote:When asked whether or not the team wishes they could change anything about the original product, Respawn COO Dusty Welch said, "Platform for me comes to mind right away." Though Zampella then explained, "Well, we needed that, though. We couldn't do the game," Dusty clarified the exclusivity was always a business decision rather than anything else.

"If we could do it though?" he said. "It would have been prohibitive to do that - we definitely made the right choices for the right reasons - but if you're saying what would we have liked to have done? The opportunity to be multiplatform could have made it even more significant for us.

It was logical really. Activision were clever in that they made an exclusive promotional partnership with Sony but still released their game on Xbox 360 and XBO! Their reward was a multi-platform mega-hit. EA have yet to release Xbox One-only sales figures - it's safe to say the game under performed and they dropped the ball by missing out on the spending power of the unexpected and larger PS4 userbase. Reviews were positive but it wasn't the draw to make people buy the Xbox One with Kinect. I haven't played it but when other equivalent games have multiplayer and single player campaign for the same price they are perceived to have more value.

But why release this news now? I'm wondering if it is to soften the PR for Microsoft when the game is unveiled at E3- a reveal there that it's multiformat would seem like a win for PS4. Or is simply Zampella being a boss and saying what he wants to say without waiting for permission!

It's an excellent game, but I'm not sure how a story-less shooter needs a sequel. Surely anything they could add to it could be done via map packs and updates? To me, this seems like a cheap way of getting it onto other platforms. Not that that's a bad thing, the game deserves a bigger audience than it has.

To be fair I found the whole concept flawed, maps were too big for 6v6 without the Titans, and too small when a few of you had Titans
Definitely my big regret purchase of 2014

EA just have the publishing and distribution rights or whatever. It's not developed by one of their studios so it probably won't be Frostbite.
